Now the forums are slow for me

Have seen complaints for years about slow forums. Never seemed that slow to me. Now the forums are so slow I don't look at them near as often as I did in the past.

BTW the LVA forums are the only place my computer has problems.

Any cure you can suggest?

Same here. I can read one or two messages (with a very long pause to go into each message), then it seems to stop cold. This is the only site where this happens.

After being a member for years, I got tired of the slow response. Signed back up yesterday. Seems like I made a big mistake. I am online for hours a day and this site is the worst.

Today is better.

Yesterday was slow forum hell.



It would be nice if LVA could post an advisory..."working on the system" or whatever, so as not to keep us wondering (and gnashing teeth).

I renewed last week, and was in a hurry............forgot to add my 2c. in person about Super SLOW forum.

Needless to say we Don't want Zoho. AGH!

Any chance you can delete OLD threads, perhaps, 2 year cut off, the Delete everything else......

Would something like that help here?

I have stop posting this past year because of the slow download time at this site. It was driving me nuts. However; I have noticed recently that if you turn off graphics it really speeds up your ability to read messages. I now wish I would have turned off graphics a long time ago.


You can turn off graphics as follows:

Log into your forum account.

Click on profile. It is located between Member Info and search at top of page.

Click on personal options.

Scroll down, choose the "standard" graphics option, and click "customize!". This will remove all the graphics from the messages you read and speed up the boards considerably.

I also noticed on Default.............it says see last 1700 days (worth of posts)

Huh? I didn't know that. Why see 1700 days!? No wonder its so slow!?

I changed it to 300, so almost a year. Thats good enuf.

I turned off the graphics........so it would go alittle faster..........but now its boring as heck with no graphics.

Have you tried deleting OLD threads to help the slowness?

I've tried all the reccomendations offered, and this forum is still slower than anything on the planet.
They got bin Laden faster than I can bring a topic up.
