I will make the argument that Eating Las Vegas should continue.
The format of the book is tremendous. It is a stroke of brilliance to develop a book that allows us to watch three food experts with disparate opinions coalesce those opinions to an agreement of the 50 best restaurants in Las Vegas. The fact that each critic has a veto power to remove a restaurant from the list is the crowning achievement of the process. It is my favorite Las Vegas restaurant review book, and I have given it as a gift to others.
No offense to Max, who will be missed, but the book and the format deserve to live on. We always knew there would be turnover in the critics for a variety of reasons, some voluntary and some not. When Max recovers, he can rightfully reclaim his place. Until then, find the three best food critics you know and let them loose.
