Some MRB Questions

So we should not complain about resort fees, tunnel trips, or $6 beers, either?
Resort fees are not optional. They should be and that's the problem. Coupon service is optional.
I don't know, $3.50 really isn't a ridiculous "convenience fee." Now, if it were $10, or if there were a lot of other nickel-and-diming (like Spirit Airlines, for example), I'd probably just see Huntington Press as greedy and wouldn't do business with them.

You know what might work better? Mail the MRB for free, but offer a $3.50 discount for people who decline the mailing and want to pick it up.
I don't mind paying the $3.50 fee and have it delivered in a reasonable time. It is 1-17 and still no book. I have to laugh when people in Canada received theirs early last week. I am going to wait till after Jan next year to renew because the books arrive sooner then people that renew months in advance. Kind of a weird method of shipping each year... I would fire the slow warehouse. Btw I am in NW Ohio and we receive mail from the West Coast in 2 business days.

Not bitching just my 2 cents...

I agree with rhousedj. I am still anxiously awaiting for my MRB. I called and asked why Canadians are receiving their books sooner. I was told that those who ordered the book after they were printed and delivered to the LVA office got them earlier since they were mailed from the LVA office. Those who ordered them earlier (most of us) are getting them from the printer or mailing service, which takes longer. Maybe next year I need to wait and order mine after they are printed and delivered to the LVA office. Would be nice if the ones who ordered earlier would get them earlier (FIFO or, first in first out).

Makes perfect sense, order later and get the book sooner. For you folks, we will re-title it an "inconvenience" charge.
1-20 still no book...
They were sent out right?

Okay, I'm hoping that LVA staff is following this thread.

I've been a member since 2006; my renewal date is early December, so I renewed in November. It's Jan. 21, still no MRB. I called the office earlier this week and was told that they went out bulk mail on Jan. 9, and that they should arrive in 7 to 10 days. I was also told that I could pick the MRB up at the HP office if I don't get it by the time I leave on Jan. 25; not an option for me, we fly in and don't rent a car, and that would be plenty inconvenient, as well as a divot out of my vacation time.

So, questions for staff:

1. Did the MRBs indeed go out via bulk mail on Jan. 9, as I was told? It seems unlikely that they wouldn't have made it to Florida in 12 days.
2. I've heard from several people that people who renew early get their MRBs by bulk mail (probably through a subcontractor), while people who renew late, or after Jan. 1, get them mailed from the HP offices, maybe first class. It seems like you'd want to offer the better delivery service to the more prompt members.

Usually a late MRB isn't a big issue for me, since we usually go to Vegas in February. I figured that Jan. 25 would be plenty of leeway, it's never been this late in the past 6 years. Sorry, I value my membership but am not a happy camper with this; seems like this could have been handled better.
