Some MRB Questions

It would be helpful if everyone posting here would understand that we're dealing with thousands of send-outs and the US Postal Service. The overwhelming majority of members get their MRBs in a timely fashion, but some don't and there's not a lot we can do about that. I'm sorry you are among the unlucky ones, but it almost has to happen to some percentage of you with so many trials involved. In these cases, we do whatever we can to accommodate. Honestly, I don't know of anyone who asks for special consideration for a special circumstance like this and doesn't get it from us, but you all want to jump to conclusions that you're being screwed. You're not. You're simply on the left side of a normal Bell Curve where things didn't work out the way you wanted. It's a fact. You'll all get what you paid for just as you always have.
Thanks for addressing the issue Anthony I think that's all that anyone really wanted.

Thanks for your response, Anthony, I do appreciate it, as I'm sure many people do. Of course there will be a lot of variability in the mail, things seem to be running later than usual this year. And I wouldn't be concerned if I weren't leaving on Wednesday, it's an earlier trip than usual for us this year. Now, when I called last week I was told that the MRBs were mailed on January 9; if that's true, it's odd to not have them in Florida (not to mention the midwest) by Jan. 23. Were they indeed all bulk- or media-mailed on Jan. 9?

One other issue that many people would like to have clarified. Many people (I don't think HP staff, though) have said that those who renew early (like myself) have their MRBs bulk-mailed, but those who wait until the last minute, or after Jan. 1, or whatever, have them mailed first-class from the HP offices. Is that true? If so, it would be an incentive to renew late (personally, I'd worry about doing that, since my renewal date is early December, and I'd worry about what would happen if I let it lapse for a month; wouldn't want to have trouble with the forums, for example).

Finally, a few people (not staff) have said that HP staff have offered to deliver the MRBs to hotels for people who haven't gotten them in time for their trip. Is that true? It would be a hell of a good gesture if it were.

Thanks again for your time.
All of the preorders were sent by January 9. Typically, the preorders go out prior to the end of the year, so they arrive by the first week of January. This makes it faster than waiting to have them sent when we get back to work in the new year. But this year there were production glitches (and we had to hold to get confirmation on some of the better offers) that prevented that. We did not have the books back by the first business day of the new year, January 3, but they were back late January 4 and they went directly to our mailers. The mail type we use usually moves at a similar speed as first class, but again, there will be some that don't. Yes, we will send a runner to your hotel if necessary. I delivered a few myself last weekend.

Well, it's still odd that even domestic bulk mail doesn't arrive after 14 days, but I suppose it can happen. Your willingness to send a runner to the hotels is generous, I appreciate it.

I'm hoping that my MRB will show up in tomorrow's mail; if not, I'll call the office to arrange delivery (I'll be at MSS), and will plan on sending the extra MRB back when it arrives in the mail.

Thanks again, this is good service and I appreciate it.
Certainly. I'd just like everyone to understand that this is something we've always done. It's very difficult to please everyone, but we attend to as many as we can.
Never heard of you doing this; the party line has usually been to come over to the office to pick it up. We don't rent a car, so that would be a big chunk of time for us.

I do appreciate this, thanks.
Ok, here is my situation, my book never arrived today in the mail and my flight out is 7:00 am tomorrow the 24th.
I check into the ElCortez tomorrow for a week and would appreciate it being delivered there.

Thanks,

Lee
We will make sure you get it, but you have to call the office at 800-244-2224 to set it up and ensure we have all the information. We can't work off of message board requests.
Got mine in the mail today. Talk about 11th hour.

So, no delivery necessary, but I do appreciate the offer. Thanks!
