System Update Please

Now that the busy season is over, can you provide us with when you reasonably expect to have the conversion completed?
I agree that the slowness of this site is frustrating, even maddening at times, Something I haven't seen since the days of 300 baud modems As someone who has worked in IT for quite awhile I can certainly empathize with Anthony. I've had many projects that have ended up being far more complicated than first thought. And none of us knows the available budget and resources. in restrospect (and hindsight is always 20/20 of course) it probably would have been better not to have said anything. I always stick to the motto "Underpromise, overdeliver)
Frustrating is right; it took 35 seconds for this topic to open up. I would like an answer about when you feel this project will be completed Anthony.
If it took 35 seconds for this topic to come up, the problem is on your end. Have you replaced your modem since 1990? Granted, whenever feasible, it would be nice to improve this situation, but if it takes longer than 8-10 seconds, you'd better be looking into problems on your end.

Think you are wrong joker, sometimes it takes 2 seconds, sometimes 30 as Bobby said, sometimes it times out!!!! I have one of the best cable modems that TWC offers.
It seems to me that over the last six monthes or so the site has gotten a little faster.
I'm on a T1 line most of the time and T3 line sometimes and it's still slow. And while of course we all have varying connection speeds there is no doubt the issue is not with the end users.
It isn't my modem, which is pretty new. I have the fastest speed available in our area from Comcast so no, it's not on my end.
It's definitely on our end. It's just a very unstable system as it's currently configured and there is no fix outside of a complete overhaul. Otherwise we'd have done it a long time ago so it would be performing better now.
AC didn't know, but we are currently trying to fix the "Search" function, which got damaged when we experienced that complete server meltdown last year. In order to fix it, we have to re-index anything, and that activity was slowing down the SQL server and causing the forums to time out. So, we have suspended the indexing for now; we'll start it up again around 11 p.m. and have it run through the night. I know some people will still be trying to access the forums then, but we're trying to find the quietest time activity-wise to do it. With less people in general logged on, you might not have the same trouble tonight, but if you do, that's the reason why, and it should all be good by early morning. At that point we'll know if it fixed the "Search" function, too, which it should. In the meantime, sorry for the inconvenience.
