Anthony - Why Is This Being Allowed?

Kevin and David are a freeway pile-up with serious injuries. My guess is that most of the hits  the Kitchen Sink gets are from people who never post but can't avert their eyes from a virtual cuckoo's nest dayroom with two mentally disturbed individuals having at each other, oblivious to their maladies. And the rubberneckers get to watch this show from the safety of their  homes and offices as part of their LVA membership. It's more entertaining, albeit in a sick way, than yet another discussion about resort fees.

Anthony has warned them in the past that they could have their accounts cancelled, but he has never taken forceful, definitive action.

Why not? The only reason that makes sense to me is that Kevin and David are LVA cash cows. I wonder if the Kitchen Sink is, after the QoD , the most popular page, not for what supposedly passes  as political discussion, but for the freak show of raving lunatics having at each other 24/7.

Kevin and David are equally culpable in their wholesale violations of the rules, but the ringmaster of the circus or, if you prefer, the warden of the asylum, Anthony Curtis, just watches and counts the box office that his freak show brings in. Far from banning David and Kevin, he should cut them in on the action.

Jeff, it's kind of silly to equate me and Miller. You obviously haven't seen many of his constant screaming diatribes and stupid Fakebook nonsense.

But the real issue is whether the combative stuff stays in the Sink. I keep it there. David stalks the other forums and posts meaningless personal attacks. So I surmise that Anthony doesn't want to play cop.

Impossible to say whether many subscribers are entertained by all that. But I can't help taking a tally. Miller calls everyone who disagrees with him mentally disturbed lunatics. YOU call both of us mentally disturbed lunatics. I don't call him or anyone else those things. Why? Because disagreement with me is not an indication of lunacy.

So if you're criticizing the behavior in the Sink while simultaneously exhibiting the same behavior yourself, well...the password is...begins with the letters "hy." Answer tomorrow.

Well, since you admit it, why don't you stop?

Ads on a site like this get paid $1-2 per thousand unique views. A

unique view is one person & mutiplr posts only count as 1. For example

even though Kevin posts 30 times per day, advertisers only count

him as 1.

I doubt this site gets 1 thousand uniques per day, so the antics are

only generating a dollar or two.

Not exactly a cash cow

Wow, Tom, are you that stupid as to not understand what he said? It's not the number of posts from any one individual that matters. It's the number of visitors to the site, and Jeff's hypothesis is that the conflicts generate visitors. Not sure I agree with him, but it's certainly possible.

One thing is for sure...NOBODY visits this site to read your constant bleats about Biden. I mean, Jesus, dude...you're fucking OBSESSIVE about that. 10+ posts a week about Biden stuttering or him daring to take time off.WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION.

Unique views, AFAIK, are views per page. If one person visits 10 different pages each with its own ad, that's 10 "impressions"  for which LVA is paid.

I know someone who posts similar content as LVA's but posts on TikTok. He is paid by TikTok about 1/10th of a cent for everyone who watches one of his videos for more than 6 seconds. If the same person watches two of his videos, he earns half a cent. It actually adds up since vids commonly get tens or hundreds of thousands of views each and a few get over a million views. Those on TikTik or YouTube who have ads on their videos can make fortunes from the advertisers.

I think there are more people than you realize who are morbidly drawn to the lunatic combatants in the Kitchen Sink. I don't know that for a fact, but I can't think of any other reason why Anthony Curtis, against his better judgement, would allow what goes on there to continue. He used to warn the chronic posters that he'd ban them, but he never did. As a result, they've doubled down on their offensive behavior after realizing that Anthony was a paper tiger.

It's futile to argue with someone who believes with all his heart that he's Napolean, because, among other reasons, Napolean died 200 years ago. That's similar to the conundrum you present here, but my best to Josephine.

One can actually find the amount of traffic the LVA site gets.  They average about about 120,000 per month or about 4,000 per day.  Each visitor visits about 3 pages per visit.

Ad revenue is tricky based on numerous factors.  It can range from $2 to $8 per thousand views.  So a site would earn $2 for every thousand people who view the page.

Assuming 1,000 people per day wander to the Sink every day & assume a $5 rate that means the LVA earms $5.  So the the ramblings of the 3 is not a cash cow.

I guess "Napolean" is some kind of diet...cheese? Because Napoleon was that short French general guy.

Jeff, someone complaining about the behavior of others while simultaneously exhibiting that same behavior ain't no conundrum at all. You see it here and God knows, elsewhere, all the time. And the one constant is that when you call someone out on it, as I did you, they adroitly dodge. Yours wasn't all that adroit, but even so...

It's his site, not yours. I accept whatever decisions he makes, either way.

Maybe you should, too, without calling him names. After all, you're stridently against name-calling...right?

Will be interesting to see how things play out once the LVA site can only be accessed with a subscription, and if the moderators will make the posters behave themselves, or risk losing subscription revenue because of offensive posters. Only time.....and money, will tell.
