You might be in luck, as most of those strategy guides are essentially obsolete due to the games they describe not being available in Vegas or anywhere else. You can't even find crap like NSUD, 9/6 JOB, or 9/6 DDB any more. (I hasten to clarify that South Point and Emerald Island are a couple of exceptions, and others do still exist---though I don't expect there to be a single game returning over 99% in Vegas by the end of this year.)

In the very, very few locations where you can still find some decent games (such as Stations), the restrictions cutting the number of machines in half will make it impossible to find a fullpay machine that's available unless it's three in the morning. There's evidence that the locals have been starving for their casino fix and will trample you on the way to their favorite machines. It was hard to find a decent available machine even before everything went to hell--especially given the massive paytable downgrades that were happening just before the pandemic hit.

Of course, you may wish to order the strategy guides as a matter of academic interest. They're very well-written and easy to understand--and I've read quite a few guides that were neither. It's sort of like reading a wooly mammoth hunting guide, but hey, you can dream!

(I remember the days, young grasshopper, when the Gold Coast had 133 .25 Deuces machines and the slot club returned 0.5%, and they sent you free stuff in the mail. The buffet even served food, as opposed to what they serve now. Ah, the good old days (sob)...)

Well thats depresing. So you recommend just finising BoB intermediate book and keep click ate the software. I play 9/6 5 coin only in Colorado and i have done well with Micheal Shcklefords intermediate to advance strategy, but i know theres more and tbh i play 9/6 so much the other games confuse me i.e duece and Ace with faces, quick quads. lol Thanks, be safe

Colorado used to be a much worse place to play than Vegas--but Vegas has gone to hell, while Colorado is basically the same as it has always been. The Colorado prohibition against any games returning over 100% is now moot, as such games are all but extinct everywhere.

The 9/6 strategy guide is worthwhile, as it points out some of the counterintuitive plays--for instance, AKQ three different suits, two small cards, you keep the KQ, which most newbies would never do. That said, there's not a hell of a lot of gain to be made by learning the more advanced strategies. JOB is a game where penalty card considerations affect your overall return very little--if memory serves, optimal play returns 99.52% without penalty card considerations and 99.54% with. Probably not worth the effort to learn.

The weirder games, like Quick Quads, usually can't be found with good paytables AND the proper strategy is hard to learn. (In the particular case of QQ, playing "normally" will get you RAPED.) There is one game that can still be found in Colorado, though it's slowly disappearing--NSUD. Dancer has one strategy guide on that game alone. The house advantage is less than with 9/6 JOB, and it's not that hard to learn.

You can check VpFree2 to find the game. It's rare, but last year, I found it in several casinos in Cripple Creek. Don't know if it's still there to any extent.
