Ellis Island POV 2026 Question

Anthony - I have been a member for several years and purchased the 2026 book at your office on January 26th. I went to redeem the casino play for Ellis Island and I sat and played $10 for the free play wheel spin.  When trying to redeem at the machine it stated that I only had played 5 points which was my $10 and stated that I had to play $10 more dollars for the promotion to validate.  I did play $10 more dollars ($20 Total) and then the wheel spin did validate and I was rewarded the free play.  I have never had this happen in past years of redemtion.  Did I do something wrong or was this a negotiation misstep??  Thanks for the reply.

Peter, Ellis Island, like many casinos, has cut its already paltry points-earned in half for video poker. It takes $1 coin-in to earn one point on slots, but it takes $2 coin-in on video poker.

You can find out players' club points info on VPFree2.

You should always check that before you play. Sometimes a point reduction changes a good play to a fair or poor one. In the case of Ellis Island, you were giving up $0.40 in EV instead of $0.20, which would have been the case if points were earned at $1 = 1 point  So only a minor difference.

True, but the coupon appears to indicate play $10 not earn 10 points. I guess they have the right to change the coupon specifics at any time, but that's unfortunate.

The coupon states things correctly if the $10 is played on slots. I agree, it should say "earn 10 points "

There's a place downtown...maybe the D? that had an LVA "earn x points, get something" promo, and it looked pretty good, until I discovered that it took $10 coin-in to earn 1 point. Caveat emptor.

Those are the Golden Gate and D earn 50 points, get $5 coupon up to $50, and they are still worth 1% in value and push 8/5 bonus poker over 100%, although they are not going to be a ridiculously good deal.

Sounds like someone at Ellis Island doesn't understand the terms of the coupon. Not the first time that has ever happened with a coupon.

I love all Ellis Island gives us.Yet the free play promo confusing to me.First you go to rewards desk. Then last time only certain slot machines. Then the promo to spin at kiosk for free play.Still worth the fun for the free BBQ.
