Agreed. Zero yield / return and there are no meaningful goals or solutions ( in the Sink political opposing narratives); it's like watching and listening to rabid dogs bark across a fence at each other, which for some is an apparently acceptable way to spend much of their successive days. I was drawn into it for a short time ( for a few months...specifically my choice and error). No more..I wish em all well.
Well, y'know, Charles...it's at the very least an oversimplification to equate the two sides. Let's just say that one of those sides has an intriguingly original view of what constitutes reality. So talking to that side, there is no meaningful point of reference. "We really should reduce greenhouse gas emissions." "Emperor Zork has addressed that by ordering the ritual slaughter of ten thousand space giraffes and the nuclear annihilation of the Mars colony's sewage system." "HUH??"
But in a larger sense, I shouldn't get drawn into a pointless argument. I'm just not willing to tolerate being told that elections don't count, nonwhite people aren't human, etc. etc. But like with your dog analogy, I'm never going to convince the other side that they shouldn't...bark.
