Popup Ads

You really need to get rid of the popup ads on your new site. The only sites that still use them are associated with scam artists, which I know you're not. I use to check your site every day but no more. This is coming from a 30 year veteran in the software biz. Also, I love the layout of the GamblingwithanEdge.com site. Too bad you couldn't use that as your base.
I agree completely. I am now annoyed every time I come here. I will never click on a popup ad, and I close all the windows without looking at them. Sambone is right about scam artists: I hate to think LVA has become untrustworthy, but it certainly has become a pain in the ass to visit.
I have to agree. The new forum is evolving slowly, I can live with that; I would hope that traffic will increase with time and that eventually things are broken down into multiple categories (hotels, restaurants, gambling, comps, etc., etc.) as they had been before. Most people don't love change, myself included; I've been a contributor for over 10 years, and this is my first real look at the new forums. Yes, lots of complaints and lots of constructive suggestions out there so far. That being said, I have to echo what's been said on this thread. My only serious bitch is the popups, and mainly the type of scam-artist popups that I'm seeing on a regular basis. "Your computer is infected, click here to clean," "You need to update Windows, click here," etc. Come on! I dislike popups but can live with content-appropriate stuff (Vegas-related, travel sites, etc.), but really? I don't need LVA to try to lead me to a Nigerian virus.
I have Cox Cable. Every time I come here - and nowhere else - I get a popup window inviting me to take a survey on how I like Cox Cable. By doing so I will get special offers on items worth at least $79! It fooled me the first time and I took the survey. The special offers were ho-hum personal care products for about $19 each (and probably worth $5) It was from salsurvey(dot)com. I regularly remove browser cookies, clear history and dump the cache, and still this comes up, so I'm thinking it has something to do with LVA. If it does, you really need to put an end to it.
