Question of the day

I sent a question for the question of the day. Then while doing a google search the question and answer by LVA came up with a date of two weeks ahead of the day I was searching. Why would it show up on google before it showed up on the question of the day column? Just curious

Are you sure you didn't overlook the year the post was dated? Maybe it was for a different year and you didn't notice?

What was the question?

A couple weeks after your Google search did the question appear on the website?

Yes I double checked the year. The question will be tomorrows question of the day. About the insurance bet in blackjack

It is possible that they have a page setup with QODs that they fill out weeks ahead of time and have a program that pulls the appropriate day's QOD and posts it on the website.

They don't create any links to this page so it doesn't appear on the main website but it still exists so is found with a  search.

Another possibility is that several QODs are filled out ahead of time and the website is programmed to only display the correct one. However since the other ones technically exist they can be found with a search.

Not sure if that's what is happening but it is possible. Pure speculation on my behalf though.

Did it look like the normal QOD page or did it look different?

It looked the same. You can see for yourself. Google " when was the insurance bet first offered in blackjack "

Yeah. After I asked what it looked like I went ahead and searched and found it.

My speculation is that they preload several QODs onto their server. They get published daily on an automatic timer.

These pages are not posted on the site yet but are technically active so they are found through internet search engines.
