The Rio LVA coupon is worthless

First: you can't use the offer code on the coupon when trying to book online. There is simply no place to enter it on the form, and without it, you get hit for the resort fee and don't receive the 30% discount.

If you try, as in try try try try try, to talk to a human, you instead get connected to the "virtual assistant Rio Rita," and you CANNOT convince the bot to connect you to a human. The most infuriating aspect of this is that the bot will ask you if you want to talk to a human but when you say "yes," it will just ask you "why?" followed by another goddamn series of questions. YOU CANNOT, NO MATTER WHAT, EVER TALK TO A HUMAN BEING, AND THEIR SYSTEM DOESN'T LET YOU USE THE COUPON.

I did talk to the casino operator, who did eventually connect me to a human, who had NO IDEA what the "LVA 25" coupon code was, and she connected me to...

Fucking "Rio Rita." Again.

What a total crock!

Oh man, that is frustrating.  Jonathan Jossel at the Plaza recently talked about AI customer service.  He said they tried it, but it wasn't ready and people really want to talk to a person so they stuck with real service for now, but he says it's inevitable in the future.  Looks like Rio pushed ahead with a cheap knockoff to save a few shekels while gutting their image and customer service.

I'd compare it to the early push to Indian and Pakistani call centers with people that only had a script and basic English skills.  Just a loop of nonsense working that script and starting over when it went wrong and finally, oops, disconnected!

I looked into the coupon for our October trip, spoke with Rita, and I finally heard her say that the "resort fee" is handled at check-in, so that could be the answer. I did get her to transfer me to the front desk, but I hung up before anyone answered.

We're going out for a bowling tournament that my wife likes to bowl in, and it's at Gold Coast, which might have been why the rooms were expensive, even on Sunday and Monday.

We're thinking of the Plaza for Friday and Saturday and my usual standby, underappreciated casino, The M Resort, for Sunday and Monday.

I had no problems with my reservation at the Rio.  I was able to access the room cost with the LVA25 coupon.  I did call reservations and it took me 10 minutes before I got a rep.  Since I knew the room cost, it was easy for me to select the one that I wanted at the LVA price.  My confirmation did have the correct price without a resort fee.  For the days that I selected, it was $21 for a remodeled king suite on a high floor with a mountain view.  When I knew that I couldn't get down to LV during that time, I did have to talk to a rep to cancel it.  Hoping that things are going well on the Front Range.  Bowling tournaments can be fun.  Take care.

Please We need better Customer service. AI or even when I get a real person they often dont understand what I am asking.

On the LVA Update video today, AC mentioned that a visitor could get a room at the Rio for $12.60 midweek with the LVA coupon, all in, with no resort fees.  Unreal!  Not sure the room they showed on the video is the room the visitor would get, but that looked like the room you described, Robert.  Man, if that's the case, that's an incredible deal, sorry you had to cancel it.

Hey Edso.  What I do is go to the website, put in the code, and check prices for Sun-Thurs.  You can view the price details to determine the daily prices.  That's how I determine what weekdays I would be interested in. They can change daily.  Everyone enjoy the 4th if it's cool enough where you live to enjoy it.

I looked for a place to enter the code. The website didn't accept it. Then, for some reason, I was able to force it to comply---but it only reduced the room rate by $7 or so, and kept the resort fee.

I then spent a maddening 20 minutes trying to get past Rio Rita and talk to a human. The bot was skilled and stubborn and wouldn't let me. Finally, I dialed their 777 number (not the one on the coupon) and begged the operator to transfer me to a human. I got through after 15 minutes on hold. The phoneling who answered had no clue about the LVA coupon or code and was baffled as to how she could use it. I asked to talk to her supervisor...and that person drew a blank as well. Two hours of my life, gone forever.

Back in January, I did manage to make a reservation using the LVA code, but when I checked in, the clerkling said that was ridiculous (its words, not mine) and they didn't sell rooms for $17 a night. Her manager said the same thing and all but accused me of running some kind of scam. Bone-tired, I paid them $79 for one night (resort fee NOT waived) and crashed. In the morning, I got a call from the GM, who apologized and said that the quoted rate would be honored.

Somebody needs to brief all the various thinglings about the coupon. That definitely includes Rio Rita, the annoyance bot.

Edso, for what it's worth, the room I got back in January (after a massive struggle) was indeed huge and very comfortable. Floor to ceiling windows, an actual couch to sit on and watch TV, a work desk and office chair, a huge bathroom, and a big comfy bed.

And I was in the Masquerade tower, the cheaper of the two

It's probably worth it to try to take on Rio Rita. You won't necessarily succeed. The person who invented her should have his testicles chewed off by a rabid wolverine.

Where did you put in the code? I've looked and looked and haven't figured out where it's supposed to go.
