Self Service buffets allowed to open June 1st.

This is a good discussion covering several possibilities. The reality is, no one knows yet what's gonna happen with self-serve buffets. More and more, perception is becoming a key consideration. The casinos are terrified that they'll do something that is perceived to be unsafe, whether it is or not. That will keep many who might want to reopen their buffets on the sidelines longer. Then there's the fact that some just don't want to do buffets anymore and will use this opportunity to eradicate them. In the local sector, for example, there's a very good possibility that buffets won't return at Stations, but I'd expect buffets to return at Boyd, Arizona Charlie's/STRAT, M, and Silverton.

Thank you so much.  We could live with that and can't wait.  We are still surprised that Palms has not opened, as they spent a fortune fixing it up and re-doing the buffet, as they did at Red Rock and Palace buffets. I do hope those re-open and get rid of the mask mandate.

I'm sure that someone on the LVA staff will answer your question, but it was confirmed last week that the state of Nevada is turning over control of most of the restrictions to the counties as of May 1st not June 1st. A committee will be presenting a plan to the Clark County Commission tomorrow. The plan includes reopening self-service buffets May1st. Yes!!  Saw that yesterday.  Good news, and now will continue to request the buffets open and the casinos need to push to get rid of the mask mandate all together.  People should be able to wear it if they want of course.

But they've had over a year to plan this out and the only one being changed that I've heard is Boulder Station. Maybe Stations will open the rest.

Yes, and it is a shame about Boulder, but that was one of the oldest buffets, although a really good one.  We were told that they are turning it into a food court and can't imagine that will be successful, but who knows.  Station spent a fortune re-doing Red Rock, Palace, and Palms buffets, so hope those all open.  They were always packed too.  Boyd kept all their buffet employees while they had the temperature stations, which are now gone (Yay), and hope they are planning to open and bring them back.
