where is my original user name

why is my real name being displayed....what happened to my original display name?????

Search username or nickname for instructions on how to set up a username on your account.

To change my username I went in to edit my profile and then put my username down as my nickname. Once I had it as my nickname, it became one of the options to choose from in the drop-down box for selecting a username. Easy this way.
