We had a road trip planned before the Great Race was publicized, so I just rearranged a few details, and managed to visit five locations already. Started out at Windsor (the closest to us), where we spent the night and rested up for our two week drive. Then off to Hammond, IN. After a few hours of play, we drove to St. Louis, staying a few days to visit relatives and play as much as time would allow. They bumped us up to a suite, since they only had smoking rooms available and that wouldn't work for us...beautiful room, actually the nicest suite we have had, whether in LV or any other location. The fourth stop was Metropolis, IL where the workers were as friendly as any I have ever met! They were still getting over the shock of the big flood, and were thrilled that Harrahs paid them the entire time they were closed. Pretty good PR, that's for sure! Then off to Cherokee, NC where the machines took most of what we had won in the last four...oh well, lots of fun seeing new places and meeting interesting people. Now for a trip to LV in September, and we will finish up the promotion at Paris. Gotta love this hobby of ours! My non-gambling friends think I'm crazy...but then I just read the comments from all of you folks and think, "nah, not crazy ~ just have a different way of looking at things!"
