$20 tip at check in.

I've always given a nice tip at check in at casinos up and down the strip. Usually it seems to work getting a room with a good view. I never got a free upgrade with the tip.
Has anyone given a nice tip and been unhappy with their view or gotten a free upgrade?
We got a free upgrade to a Suite at Caesars just for asking.

I gave him a twenty after he told us what room we were getting, but I didn't flash it when

I requested the upgrade.

Here is a video of the room, Link
I do the same thing. I don't try to bribe them. I ask for an upgrade. If they give me one, I tip them.
I didn't did it at Bally's cause I did not know about this at that time. My last trip to Hooters I handed a $20 to the clerk with my credit card at registration and asked if a free upgrade was possible. She blinked once and gave me a large tower room for $26 a night. I would say just try it and if they say no, say thanks anyway and go on.

me neither. when I asked at Hooters I just placed the $20 under the credit card I handed her and didn't act like it was a big deal. I think that's why she didn't have any problem with it; I did not draw attention to her.
prideworks..........you got a split personality?
me too.
if it's BC(before coffee) that's highly probable...: >
Has anyone had luck at the Golden Nugget?
In April did it at Bally's and it got us into the North Tower on a Diamond Floor. 5 days later did it at Rio, and it got us into the Ipanema tower in a room that smelled like BBQ 24/7. I enjoyed the smell, my wife didn't.
