$6 a night increase. If one were not averse to paying $39 a night, how much will that additional $6 a night (2-3 nights?) affect a decision to stay at the property, especially if one, like Don the Dentist, gets a tangible benefit with the Resort Fee? I'm thinking Don was speaking (or typing), tongue in cheek, but for some this is a benefit. What does a notary charge...used to be $2 back in the day. LOL.
Now I am sounding like a RF apologist, which I am not. Just sayin' there is always the exception.
Sort of like Southwest Vacations, which discounts flight (highest price) and hotel nights if flight is booked via Southwest Vacations. One can total things up to see if it is a better deal than paying cheapest fare and being comped for the nights, and some food and Free Play, up front via an offer. Haven't done the calculations lately, and can't remember if Resort Fee is waved when booking through Southwest Vacations.
Overall, "whatever the traffic will bear" is the business motto (any business). $45 now, no doubt a test of...whatever the traffic will bear later.
