40th B day

I am turning 40 in 2012, we are thinking of spending a week in Vegas. I was thinking a few days off strip on Freemont we really liked the Rush Tower, but really did not have many perks. : (

But were also thinking of on strip a few days, any recomendations?

Who is we?

Are you thinking romantic atmosphere or party atmosphere?

Bargain mid-range or splurge?

How important are other factors such as choice of restaurants, convenience to other properties, quality and types fo gambling, available shows, etc.?
My wife and I celebrated our 40th birthdays at the Monte Carlo. Contacted a casino host ahead of time, informed him of our trip and that we were already booked there. Had never stayed there, but at several other MGM properties. He e-mailed me back and arranged for a Monaco Suite. When we checked out, they had comped all of our meals also. He had informed me that we had 1 meal per person per day, so our play apparently took the rest of it. First time I ever had a room with 2 bathrooms. It never hurts to ask. Sent the host a nice gift when we got home and thanked him.
Rush Tower is at the Golden Nugget. It's very nice! If you could give us more specific information we could guide your choice.

I set up a 40th birthday bash for my husband in Vegas. His nickname is Rock. He walked past two of our friends holding up "Rock is 40" signs at least twice before he noticed. ;-)

HI guys thanks for the help so far. I was thinking of splitting up the week some on FSE and someon the strip. We are not big players, but do like the slots.
Im hoping to find someone that will work with me in Vegas. I have never stayed on the Strip. Where are the best views hotel wise? Im trying to plan ahead. B day in Oct.
I celebrated my 40th by getting engaged. Should have gone to Vegas instead
What do you mean by "best views hotel wise"?

Every hotel on the Strip has some good views: Strip, mountains, pool, golf course.

Where do you want to stay, other than for the view?

Bellagio fountain view is good.
Or, Cosmopolitan balcony rooms also with Bellagio fountain view.
Mirage has rooms that overlook the volcano.
TI has rooms that overlook the Siren show.
Wynn and Encore have some decent Strip views and very nice non-Strip views.

I have never stayed when I could have a strip view myself. How are the rooms at Bills? What about IP?
I dream of the WYNN or Bellaggo. What about Paris?
I 'm really trying to find someone who will work with this low roller to make my 40th special.
Just as an FYI - the El Cortez will give you double points for your birthday, the Four Queens will give you a 2 for 1 voucher for meal at Magnolias. You have to go to their slot club to receive these "birthday gifts". I am not aware of any other birthday deals downtown. ( was there end of January and asked)
