7* signature event - has anyone gone?

The drawing, along with the other benefits would be cool.

I will likely reach 150k points during the July 4th holiday. I played a lot in April in Vegas and in one weekend trip to AC. I'm at 133k and am going to AC for the 4th of July (including on a day that has 10x points -- YEAH!), so should be 7 stars by the end of that week, or have at least achieved 150k.

My host told me it can take 30-60 days to process 7* status but if I just see my host in AC while there they can expedite processing. Anyone have experience doing so? The timing is important to me because I'm celebrating my 50th birthday in Vegas in August. I already had great ("free") airfare using points so I'll use the $750 airfare benefit later but I want to take advantage of the $500 celebration dinner for my 50th birthday dinner in August.
I'm not going to either event. Having all those big players in the same place makes it harder to get upgrades and discretionary comps. Plus I only get to go once or twice a year so I will use the 7 star/Diamond III trips.

When I reached 7* I went up to the TR desk and they gave me a 7* card right away, but said it would take 1-2 weeks for processing in the system. I kept checking back and after 2 weeks found out that whoever was supposed to forward my name up the chain hadn't done so. Once it was forwarded, I think it took about a week or so (I kept checking online). I really wanted the companion card for my husband, so my host was able to get one for me as a courtesy, before my account was upgraded in the system, since they'd messed up in getting the info forwarded.

I do have to say, I enjoy the 7* benefits, it's nice to go up for promotions or hotel check in and not have to wait in line and I also enjoy the 2 free daily buffets (at Rincon). I'm typically not a buffet person, but it's free and it's nice to get in and out quickly, plus their food is pretty good.

I haven't taken advantage of any of the trips this year, but did get my gift, which was the Bose Mini Link bluetooth wireless speaker. We love it and recommend it if you like playing Pandora, or your Ipod and would like to have the portability to listen to music anywhere (inside/outside).

Another benefit I really like is turning rewards points into $125 RP's for $100 freeplay. For my heavier play trips (to Vegas or New Orleans), the hosts comped off everything at the end so I try to use up my RP's for other things. My last Vegas trip, I think I had only a $200 in RP's going in and I hit the gift shop at the end of my trip and charged probably $500-$600 to my room (I bought some robes, kitchen items, and then a bunch of just crap stuff...yes I'd had a few cocktails, lol). That along with all my meals (took friends to dinner at Mon Ami Gabi) etc...my host ended up comping off about $800-$900 and the rest was covered with my RP's.
Erininsd,

Thanks for all of the tips/info. I really appreciate it. While I normally don't "chase" comps, coming so close to 7* I am definitely going to work it to get there in early July so that I can maximize the benefits this year, next year and through March 2016. (I think that's correct.) Even if I don't maintain the status next year it'll be neat to enjoy the benefits for a solid year and a half.

The gift sounds very nice. I'd pick that (if we have a choice of gifts).

I'm excited about the benefits as well, especially being able to convert RCs to FSP at a much better rate. On the day of 10x points, that's the day I'm planning to get a head start on the day and earn 5k TC. With the 10k bonus that will be bring me to just under 150k and with one 1k day, I'll be at 150k points. After I earn 7* and once in the system, I'll be able to convert what would be at least $500 in RCs (5k in TC x 10x points = $500 comp dollars! Woo hoo!)

I need to find out what the AC benefits of 7* might be although even the Diamond Lounges in AC amount to a decent buffet.

I agree, it was great to hit 7* early in the year, but I probably won't be there at the end of 2015, so the 2 years of benefits will be nice. I still have to figure out when I'm going to take my diamond and 7* trip before March of next year. I think we will definitely hit New Orleans again for Mardi Gras, we had a blast and I think the other trip will be Vegas.

Once you hit 7* they will send you a packet with the info and gift book, or my TR desk gave me the brochures when I went up and informed them I'd hit it (finally!). There's a few gifts to choose from.

Have you checked out sevenstarsinsider.com? Lots of good info there and also sign up for the newsletter. The newsletter has a lot of info about non seven star stuff at different casinos throughout the country, although I've found he mostly concentrates on Atlantic City and Vegas is probably 2nd.
Yes, I've started reading sevenstarinsider. It's an extremely helpful site. A great service. Will keep you posted on my hopeful success!

King, I got an email offer for the Tahoe experience just today and mine included freeplay and airfare. I don't have the exact amounts, but I'm only at about 170k tier.

It makes no sense to me. I don't have my mailer at work but I don't believe I received any freeplay for either event. I really wanted to go to Tahoe and I may lean on both my New Orleans and Vegas hosts to come through. Being a VP player only (no slots) may be an issue too.

I may forego the Tahoe event to attend the opening weekend of NFL football in Vegas.

p.s. Stay away from MultiStrike (out) poker.
I hadn't received a mailer for the October event, I asked my Vegas host and she filled me in.

Your hosts will probably have more info for you. I'd be curious to see if they have any power to give you freeplay or airfare, if it was not initially offered to you.

I received an interesting survey about what I'd like to do for New Years, I'll be curious to see what kind of offers I receive when the time comes. Out of the 5-6 events I rated, I said my number one was freeplay and a dinner in Vegas. If they come through with something like that, I think we may end up going this year (even though I said I'd never do LV at New Years).
If anyone wants info on any 7 Stars Events -- go to:

You can check the archives for reviews on past events also.
This Newsletter is heavy on 7-Stars and Atlantic City--however
there are often gems of information in it for any TR Level
player and it does cover ALL the HET/CET destinations that
are news-worthy for the month.
I received that survey, too. My choice was the ONE out of five that offered free play. It came with an early dinner -- I think 7pm.

I had Cromwell booked for NYE/NYD (going through reservations online it came up comped), but I canceled. Unless they sent me an offer with some really good free play I won't go for a holiday period. It's just too crazy.
