AC Diamond Lounges NO LONGER FREE, unless 7* or 25,000 Tier Points

In my mailbox today, Atlantic City Diamond Lounges

Talks about how 40% of the people rated the food D or F this year..... "pleased to announce an enhanced Diamond Lounge experience" goes on to talk about the food improvements....

"This benefit will remain free for Seven Stars member and their guests. Free admission will also be granted to Diamond customers that have earned a Tier Score of 25,000 or greater in the prior or current year. However, beginning June 13th, 1,000 reward credits will be charged for each admission to the Diamond Lounge for customers whose Tier Score does not meet the above levels."
I thought I read 2,000 reward credits somewhere else.

When changes like this happen, I always wonder what kudos go to the person in marketing who comes up with the language to explain the change, LOL. Apparently being blunt and writing, "we'll improve thing but you have to pay for it" just won't go over well in a marketing piece.

For a while there's been some discussion on levels of diamond and it appears its coming to fruition. Either that or the 7* don't want to rub elbows with a lowly diamond like myself, LOL.
In the past 3 years, I have easily passed the 25,000 tier mark. this year, it doesn't look like that will happen. I am all poor now. 9400 tier right now. I'll barely make Diamond this year

That really blows! The food better be damn good for 1000 credits.

I didn't make diamond last year, first time in probably 8 years. A big reason is that I switched to MGM properties in Vegas. I've found the comps are much better for my level of play.
My husband and I are "small potatoes" in the gambling world. We stuck with Harrah's/Caesar's for two reasons: comped rooms and the diamond lounges. When my husband made diamond for the first time in 2005, the DLs were stocked with all top shelf liquor, including Goose, Belvedere, etc. They had food all day (sub sandwiches wraps, cheese and crackers, etc). Now much of the top shelf stuff is history and the snacks and unidentifiable dips are nothing to get excited about.

I thought the food was pretty good in AC compared to what I was accustomed to in LV. I can't imagine that 40% of the people rated it a D or F.

The bottom line is that the company offers perks to draw you in; you earn those perks according to their rules; then they take them down a few notches halfway through the year. That is what I find unsettling.

Exactly!

Also, it would be fun to eavesdrop on the conversation between the writer and his/her non-work friends when they go out for drinks.
The 1,000 credit equals $10, which brings them in line with the Taj Mahal and Borgata.

With MGM in Las Vegas, casinos in CT and Pa., and the variety of choices in AC,
I have finally concluded it time to just give up on the Diamond card.

In line, perhaps, but they have BIG STEPS to equal the Amphora Lounge at Borgata (especially, the top shelf liquor, and drinkable wine).

My big concern : Table Players!

Just this past weekend :

Bally's AC Big Baccarat 3 hours + (probably around 3 hours 15 minutes or so) $150 average = $22.86 worth of CET RCs
Borgata AC Dice 3 hours 30 minutes $105 average (not including odds) earned : $52 in comp dollars

While I know, they are different games, they are both 1% +/- house edge games. And, well, my average was $45 less at Borg (and a bit more time); earning comps at CET properties is tough enough already for table players.

Then, you have the issue, that I'm 'basically' always at zero anyway, since they pull what I earn towards my LFB status; unless I RUN to the lounge right after a session. So, I guess, I'll seldom be visiting a Diamond Lounge unless I reach 25,000 tier (which is ALSO really hard for table players, and I'm a table player that logs 1,000 Tier per day......)
I'm not surprised. But I fear that the "new enhanced experience" will be a few added liquors and little else. Then, as they did in Vegas, they'll slowly take those away. Seems to me they should just be honest and raise the diamond requirement to 25,000 and be done with it. I Hope for my ECLVA friends that things don't become "vegasized" though that seems to be what's on the horizon.

I hope once this happens someone will report just what "enhancements" took place.
