Ak-Chin info needed?

Going to Ak-Chin. Rooms comped. What is difference in Tower 1 and Tower 2. What is the closest to the casino? Any info is appreciated. Thanks for your time.,
Please feel free to pm with any specific questions as Ak-Chin is my local Harrahs property. I'm guessing the difference between Tower 1 and Tower 2 is the view as there is only 1 tower. I prefer tower rooms that face west or the direction of the pool. If you're on the lower floors with a room facing west, your view will be the resort rooms. Resort rooms are the original hotel.

Hotel tower is fairly new and will be 2 years old in July. Resort rooms are the original rooms and were remodeled before they built the hotel tower. Resort rooms are larger. All have either a balcony or small patio, refrigerator, safe, in room individual coffee and the bathroom has a separate tower and tub. The carpet might be a tad dated in some rooms, otherwise rooms are nice. In some of the resort rooms, they recently redid the wall tile in the bathrooms. Tower rooms are closer to the casino and have a loft like feel. They are smaller, nicely appointed but not a lot of space for 2 people. All have in room individual coffee, refrigerator and safe. Bathroom has a large walk in shower with large showerhead and no bathtub. If there were 2 or more of us staying in the room and we were staying for more than 1 quick night, I'd request a Resort room when I made my reservation.

Sometimes I go for a quick night arriving around 8 pm and leave the next morning. Those nights I basically need a place to crash and am happy and prefer a resort room. Sometimes I arrive earlier in the day, want to enjoy the pool and/or hotel part of the property or maybe stay 2 nights. Those trips, I request a resort room on the 2nd floor. Most people want a room facing the pool. I like the rooms facing the field and enjoy looking at very little over the horizon. I also like being able to open the arcadia door and enjoy the fresh air.

I'm guessing this is your first visit to Ak-Chin and you'll probably be driving from Phoenix's airport. Ak-Chin is located about 17 miles from I 10 on Highway 347. You drive through the desert or middle of nowhere to get there.
You don't have to worry about distance to the casino unless you have special needs. The walk is short and pleasant right next to the pool.

This property is much, much better than some of the other non-Vegas Harrah's properties including any of them in the midwest.

This is a destination property and you can look forward to a resort-like experience.

Good luck.
Weve stayed there past years during Spring training, cuz its comped instead of $200+ per night
elsewhere. I've also flown into Vegas & gotten a rental car there, and drove to Ak-Chin cuz
Vegas rental car prices were 1/3 what Phoenix was charging.

Having said that.........I also agree its a very nice property, and Lisa is the Go-To person on this prop.
One year I didn't play in the casino at all, just too busy.

But last spring training, I killed some time playing 2c. multiline games......and got dealt deuces/ace
on 10 play? 20?......whatever it was..........over $1,800 playing penny games. That was a shocker and
only happened to me at Ak-Chin! lol Paid for the trip.

Which, btw, like Lisa said..........its 30 mins out in the middle of nowhere. Reminds me of the typical
Indian casino as far as Out in the boonies.........but there is a nice strip mall with banks, food, etc
if you need that, before you get there. Have fun!

CLV, sounds like you were playing the 2c 10 play Big Time Poker machines. Congrats on your good hit.

Once you arrive in Maricopa, you can pretty much buy anything you need. Grocery stores, drug stores, banks, food places are located on both sides of Highway 347, and the Walmart is located not too far from there.

Thanks you so much Lisa and everyone for your info. Plans have changed for this weekend since the weather has changed and I nonrev on the airlines and it is just too tight . Maybe next weekend. Glad to know it is a destination . Looking forward to it. Thanks again.
1 year later....we are actually booked and going AK-Chin....Thanks for all the info last year. Any new room advice before I make a room request to my host?
We went to Phoenix to visit friends and relatives who happen to live on the south side of Phoenix, so it was easy for us to decide to stay at Ak-Chin (comped rooms). We enjoyed it so much that we added an extra day. We stayed in a tower room. It was nice, beds were comfy, and the shower was good. They have recently opened up an entertainment complex on the other side of the parking lot that has bowling alleys, multi screen movie theater and restaurants. We didn't have time to check it out, but it looks like it is a good addition to the property and to the community. It is a very laid back and relaxing place. You will enjoy it. Every one is very friendly.
Videos, enjoy your trip. Nothing has changed with regard to the rooms in the past year. Last year, they updated the pool area, enlarged the jacuzzi, got new furniture, and added seating areas.
