Two years ago we stayed at the Platinum (right behind Ellis Island) for three nights during March Madness. It was a really nice space (full kitchen, bedroom with two beds, huge bathroom, balcony). The price was fine (split between three guys). It was nice to have a full-size refrigerator with ice maker, and the owner was very responsive to issues (needed more towels, pillows for the pull-out bed, etc.).
But it was kind of an awkward arrangement. The hotel wasn't really set up for airbnb. They charged us a resort fee (which the owner re-imbursed us for, but still kind of a hassle). Couldn't check in until late in the afternoon, couldn't get extra towels from the hotel (owner had to deliver them).
I've had several good experiences with airbnb in other cities, but I really don't think Las Vegas wants them there. Must be the hotel/casino lobbyists.
