Anyone else planning to do The Great Race to Rewards?

So after going to Rincon(kiosk outside of TR alcove), Laughlin (screen at end of TR counter with a place to swipe your card, a different promotion was on the kiosk screens outside of the TR booth), and the Rio(had TR person swipe card, I missed seeing the screen at end of TR counter) I just sent an email to Johnny Hernandez at Caesars promotions. I asked him to confirm the only once to enter then just play 1 point at the various qualifying locations and if there is a way for us to check that our qualifying play has been recorded. When I receive an answer I will post it here.
Hmm, never thought of that. might have to look into it. this way I'm not stuck in laughlin all day.
Hey Parrot, renting a car can be very affordable if you know where to get the deals. I rented a mid-size car from Budget for $15 a day through a special on the Southwest website. I am flying in on Jet Blue, but I have a SW flyer card which let me book the car through their website.

The nice thing about renting from Hertz is that you can return it to a Strip location for no extra cost. That way you only need to rent for a couple of days and do not have the cost to get back to the Strip from the rental car garage.

Also, do not try this renting a Hertz car from the Strip locations - its ALOT more expensive.

DaveOKC (good to see you here, by the way) -- have you made this drive to Laughlin before? Is it really as easy as some say it is? I did the drive on Google Earth and it looks prety desolate. Is there anything on this drive that might worry me (mountain passes, long miles of nothing but desert)? How long is the desert part? How long is the total drive? What is the speed limit?

Would anyone like to reassure me about this?

Thanks
- bcc
Its been several years since I last made the trip, so perhaps others can fill in better info. What I remember is that there was not much to see - mostly desert. The first section from LV was 4 lane, then about half way it became two lane. Just before you got into Laughlin it was very hilly, but being desert it really did not seem to be anything to worry about.

There is a decent amount of traffic running this route, so I would not be afraid of getting stuck out in the desert.

Thanks for the tip--just went over to SWA site & booked compact with Payless for $14/day!!! Figure RT to strip, RT DT...and we were going to take a free bus trip to Laughlin but I'd rather drive & save half a day!
Sweet!
Although you drive past miles of nothing, the drive is easy and should take 1.5 hours at most. As you get closer to Laughlin, there are some interesting rock formations, otherwise the drive is pretty boring. Except in Searchlight, the posted speed limit is either 65 or 55. Searchlight is a speed trap and one is advised to obey their ridiculously low speed limit.

Because of the road work on Casino Dr in Laughlin, you might want to take Thomas Edison. It runs parallel to Casino Dr. and ends right before the turn into Harrahs Laughlin. You'll turn right onto Casino Dr then left at the light for Harrahs Laughlin.
Sent email to Johnny Hernandez at Caesars Entertainment Promotions telling him we're getting conflicting information on the visit a property promotion. So only need to enter this promotion once, then play a minimum of 1 point at each location.

He was able on his end to see that I had entered the promotion at Rincon and had qualifying visits to Harrahs Laughlin and the Rio in LV.

"I do apologize for the confusing information you are getting on this promotion. You definitely only need to have your card swiped once throughout the promotion. I will re-send this to our properties to make sure everyone is on the same page. "

Note: If you haven't read the prior postings in this thread, please read as some properties are grouped with others the groupings have been previously posted in this thread.
Somehow, I just feel safer scanning my card at each location kiosk, instead of leaving it up
to CE to keep track. lol
