Anyone stay at The Quad?

I have noticed that when they started redoing the casino that the rooms didn't seem to be getting kept up. Although they did seem to have started on some wings a few years back. Have a reservation for comped room at end of this month and received offer to upgrade to suite. Decided to do that and will let you know what it's like.
Maybe "One" should not complain so much
OK I stayed again last week. The difference was like night and day. The room was a dump. I didn't make an issue of it because I was double booked. I would have preferred to stay at the Quad because of the location. I almost cancelled my other reservation thank goodness I didn't.

The supposed "VIP" room they told me I was getting at check in. Stunk literally , had chipped furniture, one picture on the wall, dirty carpet. the great coffee pot my check in person said I had was so nasty looking I wouldn't use it. Thank goodness I was double booked and only had to stay one night. I filled out a survey when I left but no response.

I am booked one more time for my birthday next week. I hope I get a better room or yes I will be going back down to request another one. I have to say if this is VIP what do the regular rooms look like.
When "one" pays "ones" money, "one" has the right to complain when the room does not reach acceptable standards. "Others" (marcusdave) should grow a set and complain when appropriate instead of being a wimp and accepting what is given.

I''m hoping for the best Oct 10th. Booked 6 nights in a Deluxe double (with 5 nights comped) for my daughter who will turn 25 on the 12th and 2 other daughters. I'm taking the Strat for 4 nights comped (a first) so that I can be down the street and then either Gold Coast or Main Street station.

Sounds like I may need to keep a 3 night comp at Sunset or Palace Station just in case the room is horrible. I'm platinum so I doubt that I'll get a VIP room. Just a clean room that's doesn't stink would be nice!

I've never seen a Vegas hotel with such a wide variety of reviews!!
Hey Group,

I noticed the offer from the LVA Weekly Room And Show Offers e-mail from 9/19/2013 for rooms for Sundays for 1 Cent to 4 Cents at The Quad, and when it mentioned cons, I realized that an (at least what I think is a concerning) issue was not included.

That issue is that The Quad (the former Imperial Palace)'s parking lot is part of the Flamingo Wash and it is prone to flooding at least during Rainy Season. So this would only be a concern if you have a car to park there.

More information about this (the Imperial Palace/Quad, the Flamingo Wash and the parking lot flooding) is found if you read the LVA Question Of The Day from April 4, 2008.

I do remember over the years seeing video on the news (at least in Los Angeles) about the flooding in the Imperial Palace parking lot, so I think that people should plan their stays accordingly and don't also forget about the Summer Monsoonal Flow that can happen.

I saw the parking lot flood in person while standing on the monorail platform... it looked like a raging river! The noise was deafening. That said, it is an infrequent occurance and won't impact you unless you have a car.

Can't speak for the rooms, but the new exterior of the Quad is really nice! I couldn't help but stare as I was walking down LV Blvd last week, I've seen the construction in various forms and stages, the result was really great.

I'm hoping they spend some $$ on the rooms and not just the exterior, it would be nice to have another comp option. Just not an option for me now as 'rolling the dice' on rooms doesn't feel like vacation.

UGH... Diane I am having second thoughts about my choice of hotels for my daughters and Kims children. 8 of them, ages 22-33,and all want to stay at the Quad ON THE STRIP. I cant beat the price (my 3 daughters are actually staying in deluxe double for 6 days, on my comp, and I only have to pay $47.00 for Saturday night) and Kims family (daughter, son, sons girlfriend, nephew and his wife) are staying for 6 days in 2 rooms also for a cost of around $262.00 each. Last week I told my daughters that I could put them up in the Rio which has bigger and apparently better. Comp rate for me was about the same with Saturday night costing $68.00 instead of $47.00. They said absolutly not! They must be on the STRIP!! This is a first time trip for 2 of my daughters and Kims nephew and wife!!

When I was in Vegas in August (thanks again for the comedy tickets and eats) I stopped in the Quad and was amazed by the new casino. I actually had a pretty good run while I was there too. My only complaint is that it was freezing in the area where paigow was at. While playing I asked a dealer about the rooms. She told me that I should request a "refurbished" room, since they were in the process of remodeling the rooms. I have yet to see any confirmation of that on these boards however! Everything I'm reading says that the rooms suck and that includes all rooms!! Nothing about remodeling!

I'm hoping for some good sighting in the next 15 days! Keeping fingers crossed that being Platinum will at least get me some decent rooms at check in!

T- 15 days!
Just read this review on Tripadvisor about a recent stay at the QUAD. It answered 1 question about when the remodleing begins and helped ease my concerns...a 'lil bit!

"I just returned from a 3 night stay at The Quad. We were there for a wedding and wanted to stay on the strip in a good location. The location is GREAT! When we arrived at 4pm (check in time) there were only a few guests in line before us. And plenty of registration agents. We were checked in 15 minutes later. Our room was 1593 (considered a deluxe king) in tower 5. It was clean and supplied with plenty of towels. Yes, there are stains on the carpets. and the furniture is outdated. The hotel states they won't start on the room remodels until next year. The bed was very comfortable and the A/C worked great. The staff was nice and helpful."

Encouraging!!!!!

Still 15 days till......VEGAS!

Yes, thank you for that, Diane! I have changed my previous post slightly to reflect that, so yes, the flooding should only be a concern for you if you have a car to park there during rainy periods. But it is something to keep in mind.
