UGH... Diane I am having second thoughts about my choice of hotels for my daughters and Kims children. 8 of them, ages 22-33,and all want to stay at the Quad ON THE STRIP. I cant beat the price (my 3 daughters are actually staying in deluxe double for 6 days, on my comp, and I only have to pay $47.00 for Saturday night) and Kims family (daughter, son, sons girlfriend, nephew and his wife) are staying for 6 days in 2 rooms also for a cost of around $262.00 each. Last week I told my daughters that I could put them up in the Rio which has bigger and apparently better. Comp rate for me was about the same with Saturday night costing $68.00 instead of $47.00. They said absolutly not! They must be on the STRIP!! This is a first time trip for 2 of my daughters and Kims nephew and wife!!

Hey Champ,

Is there any way that they could change their minds about staying on the Strip since there are (unless it has changed) Free Shuttle Buses for at least a good part of the day and night (it runs between 10AM and 1AM at night) that go between Rio and Harrah's and Rio and Bally's? Then they could stay at Rio and still get around the Strip pretty easily.

More information about this is found here on the LVA Website in the "Free Shuttles" link in the "Transportation" section under "Harrah's Group."

Since the Quad is catering to a younger demographic, it sounds like your kids will fit right in. Plus, it's center strip close to everything. If this were my first trip to Vegas, I'd rather stay on the strip than at a hotel close by. Take a moment and look at visiting Vegas through their eyes. Location, Location, Location, . . . lights, camera, ACTION!
We staying there now. Yes the rooms are worn and tattered. I still prefer to stay here because of the location. They are putting all the $'s into redoing the casino and it looks good. Have a trip planned for Halloween and will be staying here again.

Sandy....Other than "worn and tattered"...what are your thougts about your Quad room? Is it cleaned every day? Are there cigarette burns everywhere/anywhere? Holes in the lampshade? Is the sink constantly plugged up?? Lisa understands my 20 somethings feelings about being on the strip. All things being equal if, from your observation, everything else is ok then I'm gonna feel better. Heck I stayed at the Cal ( actually didnt stay but took the free room with a LUAU giveaway in August ) , so I had a chance to see the room. Nothing special. Furnishing were far from new! But it was clean and servicable!

Also what was your room # and which tower was it in??

Yes they clean the room everyday. We took an upgrade to a King Suite for this stay and will be staying at the Quad again for Halloween. If we get the upgrade offer again, that's great. If not we'll still stay at the Quad. The dealers and cocktail waitresses are friendly. The cocktail waitresses remember what you drink and will look for you rather than you just having to sit and wait. No I don't over tip them but do tip a buck every time. I also already have reservations for a trip in December. The location is great IMHO and beats taking a shuttle back and forth from the Rio.
Stayed one nite last month, one nite last week. The remodel on ground may be going OK, though no live craps were found and VP tables, well, need I say? I had a bottle cap on the floor. I had to clean my tub, both times at checkin. The elevators, so slow. I would not wanna stand in the 'mere mortals' line to checkin, either. But, hey, I got better sleep there than overlooking FSE Saturday night! HH A-GO-go is a plus, even at the price. Driving that block of LV Blvd going north is two-lane only brutal. Don't look for an entrance to the quad (I did,and it was fenced) off the Blvd. Use Koval to the harrahs-venetian left turn lane, and don't be surprised if there's a semi/forklift/backhoe where you think you oughtta be driving. Good Luck!
Thanks for the update and and feedback!

If you have a mailed offer that only includes the Quad for free, check back in your account at Caesars.com. When it gets closer to the offer/event, they often add other properties to your offer (Harrah's, Bally's, Rio, Paris, PH), and you can book them online. You may not have to settle for the Quad after all.
