Strip casinos, as a rule of thumb, comp back about 20% of your losses. So if you got five comped nights...you must have lost enough to pay for twenty-five nights. My tip and info is to stop visiting the Strip, setting your money on fire, playing terrible games at high limits, and paying double or triple what meals cost anywhere else.

Or...keep on giving them your money if doing so provides you with what you feel is the proper amount of entertainment. Totally your call. But there are many ways in Vegas to have the same experience at half the cost (or much less). LVA provides a LOT of good info on exactly that.

You're not exactly the first person to call me "negative" for pointing out what a total ripoff most of the Strip really is. Most of the time, that comes from people who are too lazy to put forth any effort to save money--or, they say, it's my vacay, hooray, hooray, and I'm not going to pinch pennies, you only live once, belch grunt snort. But the reality is that very, very few of us are good with paying, say, $2000 for something that they could get for $1000. Or $500.

Vegas lulls you into thinking that money doesn't matter. So you drink the $14 beer, order the $26 pastrami sandwich, stay in the $349 room (plus $59 resort fee), and play $3 a spin slots that have a 12% house advantage. After a while, you get numb, and you hardly feel it any more as your wallet gets skillfully vacuumed.

The best play for your visit would be to grab those comped nights and eat, drink, and gamble away from the Strip. A moderate walk or a short cab or bus ride away are three casinos--Palms, Rio, Gold Coast --that will provide you with excellent food at decent prices and much, much better gambling.

That's my sincere advice, along with my "highly negative crap." I won't apologize for caring about money or for having a mild disdain for those who piss it away in Vegas when with a trivial amount of effort, they could have the same experiences for far less expenditure. I also feel that "the gouge" wouldn't exist without so many people so very willing to blithely accept it.

I sincerely hope you have the requisite amount of enjoyment for what will be a quite expensive trip.

Inside Paris is my favorite breakfast eatery, Mon Ami Gabi.  Order the Blueberry French Toast (I know, it didn't sound like 'me' but my friend recommended it, and rightly so) and a side of their Crispy Bacon (be sure to specify "crispy", if you like crispy).  You get two huge delicious crispy slices of bacon.  One order of each is enough to share if there are two of you if you aren't a big eater.  You can thank me later...LOL.  **One other tip: Everybody wants a table on the outside patio overlooking the Strip, busses and people going by, BUT we discovered we like "the atrium" even better, and no waiting for a table there, just as good a view, quieter, etc.  At the desk ask for "the atrium."

Now, I'll admit that husband and I tried a dinner meal at Mon Ami, just one time, were not pleased.  Dark, so much so dark that hard to read the menu, crowded, the server was snobby and chastized me when I requested a Reisling wine ("this is a French restaurant, how do you think we would have a German wine?").   But again, I've never given them a chance to redeem themselves on dinner, so do give it a try if you are of a mind to.  Probably a one-off on the snobby waiter...always had friendly service at the breakfast meal.

But Paris has (or did have) some good eateries other than Mon Ami.  Friend and I had a Thanksgiving dinner several years ago at...(can't remember but it was an open air kind of place inside), and were very pleased.  They had two buffets that were very good.  Admittedly we had comps for those (MGM or CET, whichever it was).

Plus it connects via a nice inside walkway, or used to, Ballys next door, which is now something else other than Ballys.

Rooms are OK, nice, nothing to sweat about.

Frankly I never have played much at Paris, so no suggestions about that.

Oh...will be there for Mon Ami at breakfast March 2nd.  BFF wants to play some Paris slots (that's all she plays).  I'll do some tables, a few slots.

You are right that on this whole LVA site you will find nothing but bad things to say about anything on the Strip, not just Kevin.  I'm a one-off on that because way back in the day I played heavily enough, dollar slots and 3/5 VP, and decently for a low roller, at Bellagio and Wynn that I still get good comps those places.  We were hard core Bellagio, but they have no good place to eat IMHO and my Host retired, so no more at the B.  One day I will try Southpoint.

Just do at least one Mon Ami for breakfast, the Blueberry French Toast and Bacon.  Do it!!

I'm not sure how accurate your formula is. Or at least it's not the only way they issue room comps.

Last year on the Caesars booking site, there was several  times I was shown as many as three nights fully comped no resort fee at several strip casinos. Also several nights with big discounts.

I just checked April and right now I can get as many as four nights paying just the resort fee.(and taxes)

Last October I got 5 nights in Reno at El Dorado. My room total for the whole stay was like 10 bucks in taxes.

At the point in 2025 where I started seeing these offers my total coin-in over the last 2 years was only a couple hundred bucks. My total loses for 2025 was less than one hundred dollars.

I think they are giving deep discounts to everyone right now to try to fill rooms.

I would recommend getting tickets to Penn and Teller. They are at the Rio and it is a good show. I've seen them twice.

When at the Rio stay away from the cheesesteak place at the food court. It is disgusting. Unless of course you like stale bread and dried out beef.

Have a great trip!

We always loved the open faced shrimp salad at Mon Ami. for lunch.  The last couple times we visited the Ceasars properties on that side of the strip all the drinks were served in plastic cups and out of the gun.  So we have a much better time playing over at the MGM properties . Also the paid parking over there is tough to handle.  It is a fun location , and the rooms should be fairly good.  Please report back if you find some good places to eat.  We still have about 600 dollars in food credit

Have a great time.  If you have the LVA coupon book, go East on Flamingo a few blocks to Ellis Island take advantage of the coupon offers from the MRB.  Have some good food, on the cheap.

I would echo LiveFree's comment about seeing the Penn and Teller show, and while over there, again take advantage of the MRB coupons for the Rio.  The "Marraige can be Murder" show is also really fun over there.  You are part of the show while you are having dinner.  There is an online coupon for the show.

Since you are staying at the Paris, you will inevitably gamble some there, but not a bad idea to venture off the strip if you can for the better food and gambling that can be had using the MRB.

If you don't have a car to get around, then just spend a half day or evening taking a Lyft or Uber to Rio....and then the Gold Coast and Palms are walking distance.   The walk from Paris to the food court at the Horseshoe, and then out the back to Flamingo and the couple blocks to Ellis Island isn't too bad.

Just some thoughts, but hope you have a great time.

I stayed at Paris last visit. The new tower.Nice room walkway to main casino.Otherwise exits into Horseshoe.I think I would try main Paris hotel next time.I did have breakfast at mon Ami.Yummy like Candy says.Lot of restaurants to choose.I do a variety of things on my visits. So I never break the bank at Caesar's property. My son has high tier status.Has a lot of hotel matching, credit card, and promos. This year May be less due to error. We have a 8 night comp.for Flamingo this June.My usual birthday month. For entertainment depends on what seen or like.Want to spend.New Kids on the Block do a good show but expensive.Donny Osmond little less.Wayne Newton haven't seen in years.Expensive choice at Caesar's Palace. For me I do one expensive then hunt for cheap.Drive down to Southpoint,or over to Westgate.Have a great visit. You don't have to spend it all at Caesar's property.Like I said I spread it around.Extra Good Luck. You deserve it.

The Strip not for everyone.I am a big spender, yet low roller gambler.Yet as long as I get free.I will go.I like the convenience of not having to take longer then necessary walks. We have a car,and travel all over Las Vegas. This year even a tour to Grand Canyon.Remember you are walking distance to Ellis Island with all their great meals.
