Aria or Vdara Question

Just when I thought I had my trip planned out at the end of the month (to stay at Paris or GVR) I get an email from MGM offering me comp rooms at their open properties. I have never stayed at either Aria or Vdara as I felt they were out of my price range for rooms but now they are offering 3 nights comped I may consider it.

Has anyone on here stayed at either or both of these properties and are they good value.? (I realize Vdara has no casino but it is linked to Aria....correct?)

I haven't stayed at either, though wandered through both.  City Center (the hub for Aria) is big, lots of walking.

Aria beats the heck out of Paris for being new, upscale.   Big casino.  I like Paris for the shops (little interesting ones) and eateries, easier to walk outside to that side of the Strip.

Vdara's lobby is stunningly gorgeous, so I assume the rooms are also.   It has a "quiet elegance" feel just walking through the lobby.

Vdara is a very short walk over to Aria, so the fact of no casino isn't such a big deal.   Same card (mLife), points earned, etc.  Have never seen a TR about Vdara.

Those recent MGM property offers are the most generous I have ever seen.   Do Aria or Vdara just for the fact of the unusually great offers, different places to eat.  May not last forever.

We loved GVR way back when they had a shuttle to/from the Strip.  When that ended we haven't been back.   Somebody did a recent TR from GVR.  They weren't happy with the customer service, said they would never go back.  Might have been a fluke.

Good luck!

Vdara rooms are more like condo units.   You get a little kitchenette and more room to spread out.   And it tends to attract a more quiet, older crowd (translation, better nights sleep).   So I would choose Vdara.   But Aria definitely does not suck.

Appreciate the responses. I'll put up a TR after I come back.....

Quick update....my wife (bless her) has now decided that she wants to join me on my excursion but will not fly so we have to shelve the Vegas trip this year and will venture up to Atlantic City (5 hour road trip from Richmond, VA) and stay at Ocean Casino.

Definately not the same as Vegas but I will get my "slot fix" and keep a happy wife. (so 2 out of 3 things is not bad).

I just hope that the "deals" for some of these Vegas hotels will be available in Jan/Feb 2021.

Keep safe all.
