Bellagio Host

Hi all:

I have never had a host assigned and am guessing that I'm not worthy as I've never been approached or contacted, but my win/loss statement for last year shows around $60k COIN-IN.  In prior years it is typically around $40-50k.

Am I correct in assuming that this is nothing to the Bellagio/MGM Resorts?  I have been staying with MGM resorts for about 20 years - once or twice per year.

What game are you playing?  If slots, I'd say you are worth something.

Slots/video poker.  I rarely play table games.

I'll be honest here.  I had Bellagio Hosts contact me even back when they first opened and I was playing dollar VP almost exclusively.  My win/loss statements through the years have shown a much larger coin in than what you are saying here.

But don't let that stop you from speaking one on one to a Host.  One or two stand at the Players Club desk, but they have an office in side the high limit slot area which would be a little more private.   What services or comps might be important to you?  Just ask what it takes to qualify for whatever offers you are interested in.

Also, I wouldn't get hung up on getting a Host there or anywhere.  It can get to be an albatross on if you feel like you have to play x amount to please a Host.

Thanks, Candy.  I am mostly looking for help with about $700 in missing slot dollars that disappeared months before the hack.  I have been calling and emailing on and off for 3 months and no one calls back it just goes into a black hole and it's really frustrating.  I'll be there in less than 5 weeks and I'm getting tired of being passed around.

First of all, to your original question: you can estimate what your worth to the casino was--and presumably, is--by figuring your expected losses. If you dump $60K into slots, you figure to lose about $6K. If video poker, much less--even awful Strip games return 97% or so, so call ir $2K. Now, you can figure on getting about 20% of that in comps/offers (used to be more like 40%, but--those were the days).

So I would surmise that even if you were primarily playing VP, you'd get about $400 in offers--surely, a couple or three free nights and maybe some food credit? I would call the MGM Vampire (or wherever you've played) casino host office and gently tug on their chain.

I feel your pain on the slot dollars problem--what exactly happened? I agree, they should at least have talked to you.

You want the nuclear option? Call the Gaming Control Board. Explain to them what happened AND that they've been unresponsive to you. I GUARANTEE that this will work. The danger, of course, is that while you'll probably get a profuse apology from them, you may also find a bomb letter rather than a room offer in your mailbox. But I prefer to be the squeaky wheel in such situations.

I do get good offfers, can't really complain about that.  Upcoming stay has 5 free nights, 300 F/B credit and 800 in freeplay plus I think an additional mid week 300 in freeplay.

The slot dollars were reflected at the higher amount for about 7 months on every offer that they sent me and then one day I logged in and checked and saw the much lower number.  I get that no one can figure it out but at least respond and tell me that and give me next steps.  Ghosting me is not going over well.  They told me they see no activity in my account to justify the drop, and they don't expire, so just give me what I'm owed and we can move on.  That would be the customer centric move.

The gaming control board never occurred to me. Very interesting thought.  I agree with you that utilizing that option would be putting a blow torch to that bridge which I'd like to avoid, but this is getting old.  If I were to put off a client for 3 months with no resolution, I'd lose my job.

I believe that a face to face confrontation with host services is where you may get your answer. You say you will be there in 5 weeks - I am curious what the outcome will be.

Good point - I'll have to find the host area when I get there!
