Best Casinos to do DIAD?

Given our planned travel schedule for the upcoming year, I'm considering doing DIAD for the free rooms and periodically throwing in a solid days play here and there as reasonable game conditions dictate. I know the basic premise but wanted to make sure I was working with current info so...

1. What locations have the best return VP games at the lowest volatility? 100 play 9/6 JoB would be ideal in my mind so you get the general picture.

2. Are all locations 3k base points or do some vary? Ideally, all things being equal, I'd like the least amount of points requires to earn this status.

3. How soon can I earn this status where I will be Diamond until end of March 2013? For example, I don't want to play now as opposed to after December 1st if playing now will only ensure me status until end of March 2012.

Thanks in advance for any comments, help and insight.

Dan,

The 3000 base points are consistent throughout the Harrahs Kingdom.

Do it after Jan 1st and it will last until Mar, 2013.

As for the games!! They all suck!!!

Maybe someone else would have knowledge of the multiline.
I'm familiar with the $5-$10, Bonus and JOB machines in the
high limit room at Caesars (3 machines), Paris(only 1)
Ballys (2 machines) Rio (2 machines) didn't find any at Flamingo,
never looked at IP. Harrahs Laughlin has 1 good one in high limit.
Again, I'm not familiar with the multiline.

Thanks Judy.

Sort of silly that one can do this on 12/31 and presumably only have Diamond status until end of March 2012. That being the case, I'll wait as you suggested.

I know there are single line $5 machines with reasonable pay tables but it's potentially too bumpy for me. Not interested in a LTR with CET....more like a friend with benefits....maybe Bags on the FFA has some suggestions but I digress

Lowest denom with highest number of lines at JoB would be ideal. Wish there was an easier way to search vpFree database nationally for CET.

Thanks again and look forward to seeing the two of you.

I did my DIAD in Laughlin four years ago on those 50 play nickle machines but alas, they have since changed the schedules.

As far as the $5 machines, that would be too much for me. The two plays that I have found are some 8/5 bonus machines up in Harveys in Tahoe or the 8/5 machines along the back wall at Harrahs Rincon in San Diego. It has been a few months but I assume that the Rincon machines are still there. Sionow would probably know better.

Dan,

Another thing is if you earn DIAD in a casino that is not your home casino, they will not issue you a diamond card on the spot. You'll have to go to your home casino if you want the diamond card instantly, otherwise, it will take some time for the whole system to update and be able to get a diamond card at any CZR property. My husband's home casino was CP, he earned DIAD in Laughlin and they couldn't print him a diamond card there. We were going up to Vegas anyways so stopped in at CP and got the new card there.

I have heard that one or two properties require 4000 base in a day to earn diamond. I think Harrah's Joliet might be one of them.
Unless things have changed recently, you can do it after Nov 30 and be good through March 2013.

Vegas has $5 JoB
Tahoe has $1 3-play and 5-play JoB
NOLA has $1 3-5-10 play JoB and NSUD

These generally have very low theo and won't get you much of anything in the way of offers.

Various other regional properties have $1 single line games better than 99.5%

With very few expections, tier doesn't drive offers in the Harrah's system. Everything is theo based. i.e. on who does 2,999 points in a day will get nearly identical offers as one who does 3,000 points in a day on the same machine even though the latter is Diamond. The one exception to this is 7-stars which gets free rooms anytime, anywhere with a few exceptions.
Thanks for the replies and useful info.

I agree that $5 machines are too rich and volatile for my liking.

Desertflower, how do I know which location is my home casino? The mailing address on the account is currently FL but my plan is to change it to Las Vegas. In that way, perhaps fly offers might come along that will get me to NOLA which is then a cheap SWA flight home to Tampa. It's not imperative that I have the actual card on the spot.....being able to book rooms online with the system there indicating that I'm Diamond should suffice. Ideally, if I was able to play at whatever CET has designated as my home casino would be bonus.

Vetsen, this information is just what I was looking for. I don't want to play this year if it's only going to bring me to Diamond until the end of March 2012. We'll be in Reno on 12/1 and in NOLA and Biloxi for four days in mid December. Depending on game availability, I'm thinking we'll get it done at one of these during that time. As for offers, I realize that it's theo loss and not tier based. I'm really just looking to get some room offers and then go in and play at the better places periodically to keep the room offers coming. If there's anything else they offer, I'll consider it bonus. I was 7 Star in a previous life and frankly I got no where near 10x the benefits for what is actually 10x the risk....not worth it to me given other play opportunities.

Thanks again all for the great info!

Dan
Both Tahoe properties have 50 play 8/5 BP for 25c/50c/$1 in high limit
Maybe I dont understand. But Diamond is 11,000 not 3,000 Platinum is 4,000. I have found Horseshoe to have the best VP
Diamond in a day is 3000. Diamond in a year is 11000.
