Bumped from Augustus Tower

Was booked for 5 comp nights at Caesars in Augustus Tower. at check in they told us that because of the Great Gift program we were being "moved" to Palace Tower.

Wasn't happy about being bumped, its a lot farther walk for sure. Room is fine - looks like augustus tower room - same furniture and decor. bathroom has 2 sinks, private toilet area, walk in shower and whirlpool bathtub.

check in clerk says that even though the confirmation says Augustus Tower (or whatever you request) always subject to change based on availability

But to make up for it, i was lucky enough to win a clubs roytal flush at 3 card poker at Bally's last night. I got a W-9
Sweet win gwtw!
Way to go on that 3 Card hit!

Nothing is guaranteed room-wise. Once I bowed up when they put us in Palace when Augustus was "full." Ended up loving the Palace room.
GWTW-9! Sweet!!

Congrats on the big win
I was on the phone yesterday booking a comped stay in the Augustus Tower.
I asked if I could be certain that I would not be bumped. They said I could pay $20 per night and be gauranteed that I would not be downgraded at check in. I said ok. The confirmation doesn't say anything about this, I called back and was told that "it was in the system."

This was new to me. Then again, this is the first time that I am booking a comped room as a gold card holder.

Has anyone else been told of this $20 per night arrangement.

Glad I read this thread. If they tell me I have to stay in the Palace Tower I should not go crazy (who me)
assuming I am not charged the $20.

BTW What if they tell me I am downgraded to the Forum Tower, does that waren't anger management?
Never heard of a $20 per night guarantee.
A better way for guarantee, is $20 trick at check in.

Other than that? I would never PAY to be "in the system".
Double Post

They loaded 6 mins. apart. Tell me there Isn't a problem with Loading here?
I have only heard this pre-payment guarantee deal once. We used to go to the Rising Star casino in Indiana for occasional overnights if the room was comped. We needed a non-smoking room as my wife cannot stand the smell of smoke. One day we arrived late and were told that only smoking rooms were available. My wife was very unhappy so they sprayed the room with some stuff which helped. The desk clerk heard my wife say "never coming here again" so she let me know that if I agreed to pay $7 when making our comped reservation we would be guaranteed a king non-smoking room. We did that for future reservations but finally just stopped going to that casino. It is not the $7 but the principle that comped should mean comped and if we are good enough customers to get a comped room we should be able to get the room we booked especially since a credit card is required to guarantee the reservation.
