Caesars Palace food options

I arrived this week for 7 nights at Caesar's. Much to my surprise, the food court was hidden from view as it is getting a redo with new vendors. I was told there would be more name brand vendors. We usually eat at the food court for breakfast as you could get a large breakfast with eggs, not just pastries. Late night would include some soup and fried rice for a light meal. So this has left us with the higher priced venues here at the hotel. Now I read that Central that is open 24 hrs. will be closing within the next few days. I had noticed that there were very few people eating there this week and we didn't eat there much because of the price and the menu was not as appealing as the old Augustus café. But late last night we did have some very good food at Central. O well, I hope all the food places are open for business when we return to Vegas.
On our last 3 night stay at Caesars, we only ate at the Diamond lounge...just too expensive otherwise. This coming stay I booked the first night there so I could use up the $100 Diamond credit and try out their buffet. The fast food must have been well hidden, because I don't remember ever seeing the area.
The food court is located near the Forim (garage) casino. I ate at Central in July. Good was good. Service so so.
I hated Central. Early on they established themselves as a snobby, noisy place where only 'the beautiful people' were welcome. The menu sucked.

Recently an evening meal there was good and the seater and server were pleasant. Too little too late, IMO.

Caesars had such a good thing going with Augustus Cafe. We figure that some newby manager type needed to establish himself by shaking things up--toss the friendly cafe with good cafe food in favor of a night club atmosphere wannabe.

Boy, your timing at Caesar's foodwise is not good. Central is closing (was never there but loved the old Augustus Cafe), Munchbar is closed, and you reported that the food court is temporarily shut down. Wow.

We are at Serendipity3 in September on a Groupon deal. The Groupon cost $35 and included two house salads, two burgers, and a shared Frozen Hot Chocolate. We enjoyed it, but without the Groupon it would be $70.

We have eaqten at mesa Grill for lunch and enjoyed that as well. They have amazing iced tea.

Bachannal Buffet is very good, but expensive.

We have not eaten at any other restaurants at Caesr's.

Good luck finding reasonable options. Sometimes the restaurants post specials, so check them out.

Joy
Room service--dependable for good sandwiches, no kiddies crying.

Payard--we used to like a lot, but disappointed in service and food last time.

Diamond lounge--Narrow window of time to get real food, and then it is like a cattle stampede. Later is OK for chips/dips and drinks.

Hope they come up with more.
I did hit the Diamond Lounge on Tues. night. Had never been in this one and had heard they didn't have much more than chips and dips. The place was very crowded but there was a pretty good buffet including salads and hot food. I think we were there about 5:30 or 6 and wasn't sure how long they kept the hot food out. We have eaten at Gordon Ramsay's because of their beer choices and the fish and chips. That was a 45 min. wait to be seated at 9PM. Ate at Tequila's at Bally's, that is always good. Just having pastries and coffee in our room for breakfast. I am using the Diamond $100 dining credit at the steakhouse tomorrow.
This subject pushed my buttons on my last trip. Room service is expensive as hell. The only "cheaper food" option was the french pastry place across from the buffet. I got 2 turkey sandwiches (heated in microwave) and they were good but $12 per sandwich. I lit into my host for closing the quick, easy, cheaper eats. They should have opened the Diamond Lounge for 7* only during the renovation, but that idea fell on deaf ears. Hell, you can't get in Diamond Louge when the food court is open!
