A little confused. If tier credits reset on Jan 1, would it at all benefit me to make platinum before Dec 31?

Yes, of course it will save you a lot of money on "resort fees" good luck.

It depends how close you are to the threshold and how much $$$ you are willing to risk for essentially a line jumper and resort fee waiver.

If you make it before Dec 31 you have it until March 2015.

If you make it after Dec 31, you have it until March 2016, but of course you have to start from zero.
