Calculating Reward credits

Just spent a day and a half playing at Caesars Windsor. My Tier credits went up 974, but my reward credits only went from 7357 to 11510. If you subtract off the free 2500 reward credit promo, that leaves a net increase of only 1653.
If you earn one reward credit for every 5 dollars of coin in, just like you earn one tier credit for every 5 dollars of coin in, my reward credits should have increased by $97.40 , not $16.53 .
Please note, I did not use any rewards credits to pay for meals, I had two free buffets and ate at the Diamond lounge twice. 95 % of the gambling was slots , 5% VP. So how exactly are the reward credits calculated ?

You earned MORE reward credits than tier credits. I don't know how they calculate it, but sometimes you earn "bonus" reward credits when playing a machine for such reasons as length of play or playing particular machines.

I think you're trying to value your tier credits like you do reward credits and that just doesn't translate. And if it did, your 974 tier credits would only translate to $9.74 nor $97.40 - so you're way better off with your $16.53. Your tier credits are good for establishing your tier level (Gold, Platinum, Diamond, 7 Stars).

Either way, it just does not compute. IF in fact it is $5 coin in for every tier credit, I should then have 974 tier credits X 5 = 4,870 coin in. for the trip.
Then, I have earned 1,653 reward credit , which means roughly 1653 X $5 coin in = $8265 coin in ???

Tier Credits have no value, they are only used to determine your card tier level.

For every Tier Credit you earn, you also receive a Reward Credit.

If you play slots, you will sometimes also earn Bonus Reward Credits.

Based on what you've told us, you likely earned.........

974 Tier Credits (used to determine your tier for 2014)

974 Reward Credits
679 Bonus Reward Credits
2500 Promo Reward Credits
4153 Total Reward Credits which equals $41.53 of comp value.

Seems like a lot of bonus reward credits ... is it normal to receive almost as many bonus reward credits as normal reward credits? Bob

sometimes. it depends on what you play.

I received a breakdown from CET that showed in detail what went on the two days . I received 196 tier credits and 223 reward credits on day one , and 652 tier credits and 580 reward credits on day two. I am baffled about how the reward credits are calculated. More reward credits than tier on day one, just the opposite on day two. Bob

Did your 652 include your 125 extra bonus tier credit? That's what it seems like. You do not earn RC for extra bonus tier credits.so that makes sense

It does get confusing. I believe you earn at least one RC for every Tier credit. You earn additional RC for a variety of things staying at machines longer, if the machine pay table is less you earn more, the newer machines seem to pay less RC than the older ones and you usually don't get any extra for playing Video poker. As I have said before Harrahs is a strange and often mysterious thing.
