Can you still walk from Harrah's to Planet Hollywood?

Will be staying at Harrah's in August and was wondering if you can still walk in front of Imperial Palace, Flamingo, etc. or has construction closed the sidewalk? Also, is the Carnival Court still open at Harrah's? Thanks!!!

Yes, but it is a covered walkway that runs from the Carnival Court to past where O'Sheas used to be (it's a concrete skeleton now). It is walkable, but rather unpleasant. The walk can get crowded with people, and it gets direct hot sun in the afternoon. The LVA QOD just did a question on this subject, saying that the sidewalk in front of Margaritaville is about to close too, making this inconvenience even worse. I have no doubt that you can still walk it, but this latest closure will make it even worse.

You might consider changing hotels to Flamingo or Bally's. We are considering changing for our next trip, since we can get a GO room at Flamingo. We love Harrah's (except for their stupid contests and promos), but on our last trip (this month, July), all this almost became too much.

The Carnival Court was running, which means loud recorded music blaring during the day. I didn't hear it at night, because Harrah's knows to put our rooms "AWAY from the Carnival Court." I believe at night they still have live bands. However, I suspect that construction dust might be a concern, since it is outdoors and RIGHT next to the construction. There are still street vendors around the pavillion.

Some positives about Harrah's: Clean rooms, good mattresses; pretty good buffet, much better than Flamingo, but not as good as Paris. Easy valet parking, not affected by construction (or maybe just a little, upon exit). Starbucks. Pleasant, smiling Diamond room where they remember you. And, of course, Big Elvis.

An alternative is to cross the street at Harrah's and do the walk on the other side of the strip (Caesars, Bellagio side), where you get even more hot sun.

We visited LV in June. We did the walk several times from the Bally's/Paris area over to P and Harrah's. There is a walkway as described above. However, we experienced no problems with it. It was no more crowded than any other sidewalk in Vegas.

Stay where you like it the best.

The problem with the crowds is this: At the intersection that used to go between O'Shea's and Margaritaville, there is a stoplight that is still running, even though no cars (other than security) go through it. As you approach this intersection at O'Sheas from the Harrah's end, the light turns red, and the people walking stop walking, thinking the stoplight is for real. The crowd builds up, and those coming from behind them may nearly collide with the ones in front. Then the ones in front then realize they can walk anyway, and the crowd evens out again. This doesn't always happen, but might happen at night when the streets are busy.

Another thing to watch out for --- is that due
to this Linq construction--getting into Flamingo's
parking structure is horrible! The back roads
back up due to the construction and it took my
hubby 45+ minutes to get from Flamingo to Audrie
and then the street that goes off of Audrie into
parking structure.
How long is the construction there going on for?
Do you still enter Harrah's off the strip and are there traffic problems driving out of the back of Harrah's

The strip entrance to Harrah's which goes under the building like a tunnel is still open.

When you exit valet, you can either turn left to go out to Koval (the same way you came into valet, which goes past the employee parking garage), or you can turn right, go as far as the Flamingo rear entrance, and then turn left toward Koval. The first route is much easier, and has less traffic from people trying to get into the Flamingo.

It would probably be easier to exit Harrah's at far exit over near Casino Royale and cross the street (this will land you near the entrance to the Mirage where the tigers are (are they still there?) and walk on the other side down to Bellagio, and cross back over to Planet Hollywood. Yes, it's a little more walking, but in the end would probably be easier than fighting the crowds and dealing with the construction. Far less people walk the strip on the other side of the street.
Stayed at Flamingo 7/15 & 16. No problems with walking down to Harrahs. At the corner where Osheas was they had a construction person helping with traffic flow and even though we had to stop when a construction truck needed to enter, it didn't really tie up the pedestrian traffic much. I liked the covered walkway...was shaded when I went.

Another thing you could do is buy a monorail ticket and take the monorail to Bally's and go thru Bally's & Paris tunnel and cross over to PH. I love the monorail and always use it when staying on that side of the strip. I took it from Flamingo to get to PH for breakfast one day. I don't mind the walk to where the monorail is at the different casinos cuz to me you do more walking if you don't use it, depending on how far you are going.
