Casino Royale Loses Table Games, Gains Photo Op
I heard about this after a friend of mine stopped by the Casino Royale about a month back. I have a group of friends who have stayed there many tiimes, and would have been gambling there in October if they will still had black jack. We're staying next door at Venetian, but always perfered gambling at The Royale.
Bummer.
Bummer x 2. Used to like CR a lot.
Showing my age but I learned to play craps here for a quarter. I don't visit much any more.
We began going to this place in 1984 when it was still called Nob Hill. If you think that it's small now, you should have seen it then. The casino area was about 1/4th of what it is now. One restaurant upstairs, which overlooked the casino. No hotel. The area between the casino and the hotel was not there. Once the new owner took it over and changed the name to the Casino Royal, they bought the Travel Lodge next door.
Once Best Western took over management, it's gone down hill in my estimation.
Are all of the table games actually gone? They moved them from the front of the casio to the rear of the casino (closer to the "food court" and restrooms" a few years ago. The photo is from the front of the casio is why I'm asking.
My buddy, who was there 3 or 4 weeks ago, assures me that all tables games have been removed from the casino. Nothing but slots. He did mention that the bar is larger and nicer.
Roughly 1989 to mid 90s (?) Casino Royale would turn into party time in the evening. BFF and I walked from Harrah's to CR every night for it. Jumpin' music, slot 'tournaments' every 30 minutes or hour or so for anybody playing. CR tee shirts and other prizes for points earned "in the next 15 minutes." Can't recall how the points were done. Anyway BFF and I often walked out of there with a handful of tee shirts. It became a joke how many CR tee shirts I'd come home with. It was so fun...until it wasn't anymore. Still have a few of those tee shirts!
