Looks like Platinum has to pay the resort fee which was $50 plus taxes when we were there in the fall. The resort rate we paid was $79 for the 4th night after 3 comped nights. The pools were nice. The "lazy" river was very popular and difficult to find available tubes. It's a rough ride in places but one of the better lazy rivers I've been on. Had a little age showing in some areas of the resort but we enjoyed the trip and were glad we went. A large place like that requires constant maintenance and we always saw maintenance working. Yes, food was expensive. We found a pizza place out by the yachts the last night which was pretty reasonable for a large slice (and was tasty). We did a lot of walking as the place is huge (so be prepared). Was not very crowded when we were there; they said the crowds start around Thanksgiving. They did have some $10 and $15 blackjack tables; the slots were high and saw several playing some very large maximums. I did win a little on a Gold Fish game (minimum play). People we met were largely from the east coast and northeast US, along with several from other countries (several from Cuba). We would go back if it was a really good offer; maybe in a few years. Beware of van taxis that pack the vans full on hot hot days without air conditioning! We were the first on and didn't realize they sit there until they are full, plus one more. (ha ha) We took it into town and came back in an air conditioned limo. If you go, hope you have a great time!
