CET Credits Question

I will be in Vegas next week and I am sure we will hit up a buffet or two. My question is about credits and tier points when we go there. Do we just ask the host to swipe our rewards cards to show that we are making purchases at certain properties. If this is correct, do we have to charge it to the room or can we still pay cash and get the points on our card?

Thanks,

JT
No need to have your host swipe your card. Just show it when you make a purchase and the reward credits will be put on your account.
You can pay cash or charge. just make sure to show your card , even if you are only buying a newspaper in one of the hotel stores.
You will be surprised how fast credits will add up.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!!
One tip for you. A good practice is to only pay with Total Reward comps when your credits cover the entire tab. This deducts all of the sales tax, meaning you are getting about 9 percent additional mileage out of your comps. If your comps don't completely cover the tab, you are taxed on the full amount. So save your comps for when you can cover entire amount.

I learned this the hard way when four of us dined at Old Homestead last month and I came up $1.08 short. They taxed me $27 on the total. Yikes. We straightened it out, but lesson learned if you are borderline on covering tab. Point it out to server before he/she applies comps and have them give you separate bill for an item or two or work with you. Our server didn't protect us.
Thanks, I guess the same is true for MGM properties since I will be at MGM next week for a convention before I move down to paris for the weekend.

While I agree with what's been said from all the posters, I would caution you that using your card on days when you're not gambling will kill your ADT. That said, if you're not a gambler then for sure swipe your card everywhere you go. What I try to do is plan my meals around my playing day. Meaning: if I'm going to give CET 3+ hours of VP play, I'll use my TR card to pay for the meal. If I'm not going to play, I simply charge it to the room and deal with it upon check out.

At the end of the day, it's all personal preference.
What if I want to earn credits for eating on property. Do I just give them my card and tell them I want to earn points? How does that work?

I'm pretty sure you need to ask them to swipe your card when you pay.
I didn't see where the website specifically answers your question. You might want to email total rewards and ask.
Yes, when you're standing in front of the cash-register clerk, simply tell him/her how many in your party and hand them your TR card. They'll slide your card and tell you what you owe. Finish the transaction like any other purchase at a restaurant. Within a day or so, CET will give you 1 point (.01 cent) per dollar you spend. So if you buy you and your spouse/significant other/child a buffet for a total of $75, you'll see a credit of 75 points to your tier score and reward credits.
Thanks, so when the boss man takes about 15 of us out for dinner I need to slip him my rewards cards for points and still let him pick up the tab. He is not much a player so he miss the points.
They should ask to see ID when they swipe the card.
