CET early check-in fees

I have heard no mention of it lately so is it fair to assume that by adding resort fees CET has dropped those ridiculous early check-in fees? We are going in August and might want to check-in early.
No they appear to still be payable. I was there late March and checked in about 12:30PM without ANY mention of a "charge". Found out when I checked out and saw it on the bill. Brought it up to their attention and they replied "word against word" They won this time will be much better prepared next time.
We were just at Harrahs NO last week and got to the hotel around 10:30 in the morning off of a cruise. She told me we could check in but it would be a $30 fee if it was before 4PM. We left our bags at the bell desk and came back after 4.
Resort fees and now early check-in fees outside LV? The Suits at CET are really shooting themselves in the foot.

In late January, I checked into the RIO and they still had them active. Because I choose to check in early. He told me that since charging the early check in fee, the line ups can get rather long and he said some people can expect to wait 20-30 mins in line. The day I was checking in, they were expecting a large influx of guests and he said people would be waiting in line past the door. To me, that's not customer service but it is the reality these days. So, here's a tip:

If you are there early, ask the front desk how many check-ins are they expecting today. This will give you an idea if spending the money for the early check-in, may in fact, be a wise investment instead of waiting in a potentially long line.
We stayed at Harrahs in late March and early April and was not charged anything. We checked in about 2 pm and I had told them that would be the time. Possibly, it could be that I had made the reservations in January. At that time I was a gold card member.
FWIW in Feb. the check-in clerk told me normally they would have charged an early check in fee but because my visit was comped (5 of 7 nights) they waived it. Who knows...
