I guess I'd rather it be MGM instead of Caesers.....
But thats like saying I'd rather have a colonoscopy instead of a root canal. Not excited about the prospect of either.
Another casino to check off my list.
Consolidation is killing the Vegas experience. As in so many other contexts, monopolies screw over the consumer.
This is a process that has been taking place for twenty years. I believe that three companies now own 85% of all Strip properties. That makes it that much easier for them to charge high prices and make the customer experience worse.
Amen - not pleasing to see at all.
Well its not like COSMO was a big player's paradise under Blackstone. I doubt anyone will notice the change ....COSMO will continue to have nice rooms, good nightlife, and a lousy casino. It migth actually work out well if they open it up to all the MGM promotions and app credits.
Empire City which was owned by the Rooney family (Steelers) sold their casino & track to MGM. MGM is itching to get rid of the track. Once MGM took over they eliminated the free entertainment, food discounts & reduced the free play.
They run it like a strip casino, when it was a locals casino. Subsequently traffic is way down.
