CZR/Harrahs cutting back on Free Play

There has been a good amount of discussion lately on VPfree about
CZR cutting waaaaayyyyyyy back on free play offers. One noted
vpfree poster stated that her free play went from $700 to $300.
We (hubby and I) have also noted our free play dwindle down to
the point that there is NO incentive to plan a trip to LAS. (we
fly in from WI) Jean Scott took the bull by the horns. . .so to
speak and stated right out that many hi-rollers, including themselves
have seen drastic cuts in free play. The up-shot of this is that
many folks are NOT going to play at CZR properties for the next
few/several months. Not an out and out boycott --so to speak, but
why play someplace that gives you 1/10th of what another property
would give you? Has anyone else been following this discussion?
How have your free-play offers been compared to 6 months ago? Are
you cutting back your play at CZR properties either by design or the
fact that simply nothing is currently being offered you that gives
you enough incentive to plan a trip?

My January and February free play offers were still $700, so I've booked them. I did a decent day of play in January, but not as high as I had been playing last year.

My February trip is my 7 Star annual trip. They've cheaped out on the airfare reimbursement (don't need airfare when I drive in from CA). For my 80k tier $750 airfare I was reimbursed with $500 free play, but for the $1200 with the 7 Star trip I'm only getting $600 travel cash, but not even all at once -- they're splitting it up between my February and March trips. I'm also getting my $500 folio credit and using my $500 celebration dinner on the 7 Star trip AND using the quarter Cascata golf benefit for two people. Since I'm using so much in benefits and I'm getting my normal $700 free play I will play, but still probably not as much as I would have.

For March and April I didn't even GET the normal free play offer at all. Nothing, nada, zilch! I needed to book something in March to get the other 1/2 of the airfare reimbursement, so I booked a corporate/loyalty offer of $100 dining credit and $400 free play. They will definitely not get my normal play then.

All of the offers I'm getting for March, April, and May (so far) that have a gift card or casino play option (very few - most offers are crappy events that are useless to me) are all for only $400 instead of the previous $700.

I can't boycott, but they will not get my normal play and I have no intention of going for 7 Stars again. It appears that they've already cut the fully paid cruise options from the 7 Stars annual Signature Events line-up, so I doubt the news will be good come April 1st when they roll out the new benefits list.
