Diamond in a day?

Can anyone tell me the diamond in a day requirements now? I believe they changed them. We are spending a week in Vegas in October, and I have always wanted to try it.

Any suggestions on this matter will be greatly appreciated!!!
I would check with the Total Rewards desk at the property you are planning on going for DIAD, as it seems that different locations have different rules. Some cities require different amounts, while each location in Vegas may have different hours you have to work with (you need to know what they consider to be a "day". Is it Midnight-midnight, 2am to 2am, etc).

You should also check when your Diamond level would expire. I believe if you earn DIAD now, it would expire in March 2013. However if you wait until January 1, 2013 to earn DIAD it would expire March 2014.
DIAD expiration is different from the expiration length when earning 11,000 tier points to earn Diamond level.

It's been awhile since DIAD was discussed here, so I've emailed CET to get some answers.
I don't remember if we established if you have to earn all 3,000 tier points at one casino in LV or if you can play at more than one CET property to earn the tier points within that 24 hour gambling day period.

I'll probably receive a reply by Monday afternoon PST.
Here's the answers I received from CET

"We appreciate your interest in "Diamond in a Day"! Please find the answers to your questions below:

1. Number of tier points required to earn DIAD this year?

3,000.

2. Number of tier points required to earn DIAD in 2013?

3,000 (subject to change).

3. If I earn DIAD between now and December 31st 2012 won't it expire in March of 2013?

If you earn between now and December 1st the status will expire in March of 2013. However, if earned in December 2012 the status will not expire until March 2014.

4. If I wait until January 1st 2013 to earn DIAD won't the expiration be March of 2014?

Correct.

5. At locations with more than one CET property ie Las Vegas must all 3,000 tier points be earned at the same casino or could I earn say 1500 tier points at Ballys and the other 1500 tier points at the Rio within the same 24 hour gambling day period?

Tier credits must all be earned at one single property.

6. Are all Las Vegas properties on the same gambling day schedule? ie all begin at 6am and end at 5:59am the next morning?

Properties will vary but most are from about 5AM to 5AM. I would suggest checking at the property of choice once you arrive.

Thanks so much, Raisin. This information helps me greatly. I know Jon (Sionow) used to do diamond in a day at the Laughlin property on their 100 play or 50 play nickle poker machines. We are spending 2 days in Laughlin and I may give it a try.

Thanks everyone for being so helpful!!!
I'd like to say thanks too! I was thinking about going for DIAD when I hit Vegas in November, but not if it expires a few months later.
Looks like its Dec. or Bust.

I did DIAD years ago in Laughlin........on quarter Triple play STP.
I seem to recall it took all day, and thanks to a royal, I actually came out $$ ahead.
Otherwise could have been an expensive day.

Hope it works out for you too, and doesn't Cost you.

So how much coin in equals one tier point?
On slots - $5 in = 1 base point
On Video Poker - $10 in = 1 base point
3. If I earn DIAD between now and December 31st 2012 won't it expire in March of 2013?

If you earn between now and December 1st the status will expire in March of 2013. However, if earned in December 2012 the status will not expire until March 2014.

Am I reading this right? I was always under the impression that from Jan-Dec, 31 (2012) would give you diamond status to March 31, 2014. not 2013. you have to dec.31 to make it for the for the following year and then you start all over jan. 1. ????
