When I re-read my post (too many typos), I realized I came off a little more angry then I meant it to be. Caesars is a business and can do anything they choose. I agree that the Rewards Club as a whole is still far and above other clubs in that they give you up-to-date information as you play. You know what is offered, you know what your requirements are, you know where you stand at all times. No other club does this, to my knowlege. There's nothing more frustrating than getting "Accepted" in the screen as you have with the Boyd/Coast club. Stations is close. They do occasionally flash your session points. However, you never know what your offers are ever going to be and if rooms require x-amount of points and such.
Personally, I'm not a big drinker--maybe one or two drinks per visit. These are easily recieved at the machines while you play, so the Diamond Lounge free drink offer is not a big deal for me.
Why the difference between Vegas and Atlantic City will continue to be a mystery. We've all remarked in the past the 7 Star's requirement of TEN times the amount of play as a Diamond certainly does not receive even close to TEN times the amout of perks...so it's a complete wonder that people try to retain that many points.
There's an assumption here, which should be in question: Whereas many of us play for the comps and therefore judge our play on them, there are actually people who play...to gamble. The comps are simply there.
As I've mentioned before, I feel it was a good ride while it lasted. I've enjoyed my time as a Diamond member and will continue in 2013 (keep in mind that the 15,000 requirement BEGINS next year and so if you make Diamond this year, it's still good unil March 2014).
I feel lucky that as a small time player I was able to enjoy some perks that far exceeded my play for years. For that, no regrets...it's simply time to move on.
BTW - For those of you that don't like that the Diamond Lounges are too crowded in Vegas, simply walk across the street to the DL in Planet Hollywood. It's the largest of all the lounges and the least used.
