Diamond Shake Down

we finally have our answers!
I once again sent CET a question about the tier levels going up. I got the following reply:

Dear Ms. -----,

Thank you for writing, and following your last e-mail I contacted my Las Vegas contacts with these same questions. While we are still waiting for the "official" announcements I did learn the 2013 Tiers (based on 2012 play) is unchanged. We expect to see messages to guests going out this month. Beginning with the 2014 Tiers (which begin earning January 1st, 2013), there will several changes to the Tier system.

An exciting change is the ability to earn "Bonus Tier" every day, which will help earn Tiers faster!
If 500+ Tier is earned in a single gaming day, guests will receive a bonus of +125 Tier.
If 1000+ Tier is earned in a single gaming day, guests will receive a bonus of +1000 Tier!
If 2,500+ Tier is earned in a single gaming day, guests will receive a bonus of +5000 Tier!!
These bonuses apply to Tier only and will not change Reward Credits earned. Only one bonus per gaming day.
Tier Credit bonuses do not count toward Reward Credit Multipliers and other Earn & Get Promotions.

Since guests will earn Tier Credit bonuses based on their daily play, allowing guests to earn Tier Credits faster, we have increased the number of Tier Credits required to achieve each Tier:
Gold (0 – 4,999 Tier Credits)
Platinum (5,000 – 14,999 Tier Credits)
Diamond (15,000 – 149,999 Tier Credits)
Seven Stars (150,000+ Tier Credits to qualify for review/invitation)

There also a change to the "In A Day" criteria.
Guests who earn 5,000 Tier Credits at one property, in one day, will qualify for “Diamond in a Day” which is only valid for the current year. Tier Credit bonuses do not count toward “Diamond in a Day.”

There will no longer be Daily Criteria for Platinum status because guests who earn 2,500 Tier Credits in a day will be awarded an additional 5,000 Tier Credits. This will give them a total of 7,500 Tier Credits, which qualifies them for Platinum!

Since this program will not take effect until the 2014 Tiers are in place, we do not have any information on any Tier Benefit changes at this time.

We trust this information has been helpful, and please let us know if we can be of further assistance. As always, “Good Luck!”

What were they smoking when they figured this up?
I guess the bonus tier credits are how 7* will get from 100,000 points to 150,000 points.
This is pretty interesting actually, not that I'm saying we should be happy about it but the new program/bonus tiers seem to be targetting heavy duty players. Two players that do the same coin in but one plays say 5 heavy days -- 500+, 1000+, 2500+, etc. tier credits in a day -- verses the other that plays more days but plays just 100 or 200 TC in a day appears to be more "valued" because they would get the bonus tier credits verses the more frequent but "lighter"player, who would not get the bonus points.

There already is, sort of, a mid-level diamond program. I forgot the name of it but this year if you earned I think 15,000 tier credits in one quarter you got invited to some pretty cool events, e.g., slot tournaments, drawings, dinners. One quarter I got it and one quarter I didn't. The one quarter I was in this program I picked up some pretty nice gifts, including a Citizen watch that has since become my favorite watch to wear. This was all AC-based. Not sure if this program exists for Vegas.

They will have more Diamond players now! LMFAO,LMFAO,LMFAO. For someone like myself I will do all of my gambling in one day, I will not believe this until I see it.
Wow they should talk to us gamblers before making such big mistakes like this one.
FFlowers, I believe it's called total insider and one needed 10,000 pts per quarter to qualify. I had around 7000 points mid Feb then my luck changed and had to pull back.
"Seven Stars (150,000+ Tier Credits to qualify for review/invitation)"

qualify for review/invitation?????

Hell Caesar!
Yep - interesting since I am about a 350-400 TC per day player myself. I might get to 500 with some luck but those days are few and far between...
Originally I was thinking, good bye AC diamond Lounges for 15k tier, but after further review and if the "tier bonus" is the real deal, my wife should need to play 5 less heavier play days (> 1000 tier)
and still make diamond. I guess it depends on what side your bread is buttered........
Yes Lisa, it's TR Insider. Thanks for reminding me and 10k does sound right and Dave/Hudsons, I agree. If you have just two days that are 2501 Tier credits you can make Diamond in those two days because you'd get 5002 Tier Credits + 10000 Bonus Tier Credits.

Or 8 1,000 Tier Credit days also gets you to Diamond because you'd earn another 8,000 Tier Credits, for a total of 16,000.

Pick a day in AC when there's a 5x or 7x multiplier and do just two 2500 Tier Credit days (yes, it's a lot but I've done it, especially if you're playing most of the day), and you've made Diamond for the year and earned a lot Reward Credits at the same time.

I think CET could get more Diamond players with this new program but the makeup of those Diamond players will be different. My guess is they'd make more money on the heavy players and lose more on the day trippers who might have been using the Diamond lounge every day and earning say 100 tier credits per day but maybe they're coming to AC say once or twice a week a few weeks a month. I don't fault folks at all for doing it, especially if they had to use $10 in comp dollars for the privilege. They earned Diamond just like I did but this program will play out for CET in an interesting way. We'll see how it turns out. Hopefully they'll improve the benefits a bit, maybe include a wider variety of Diamond shows and yes, better grub in the Vegas lounges.
