Early check-in charges

Just act SHOCKED like I did at RR, when they Tried to persuade me to pay Early Checkin Fee on my comped room. I said No way. Thats what Rental cars are for! (Or Bell desk)

Yes, CE is out of their friggin minds, just like their new Tier levels. Its either going to make a bazillion
new Diamonds, or send Diamonds running to the hills. Good call CE, NOT!

Heck, for $25-$30 early check in Fee, you can Rent a car, leave your bags in the car til checkin.........and
vist OTHER properties. Thats what I would do.........

Adios early chump fee.
We like places like South Point better than the Strip anyhow (especially during the NCAA BB tournament) so we might just start avoiding the Strip altogether. We play video poker and the games are certainly better off strip. However the Strip is the Strip and it is hard not to spend time there. It could happen if they price themselves out of my market. I am pretty sure a lot of you veteran Vegas goers feel the same way. HEAR THAT CAESAR SUITS.
I just had a room at IP QUAD 12/7 - 12/8. We booked here to gap our free offers at other properties. For a Friday and Sat $15 per night (which we paid off with our points). We arrived early around 10:00 and tired to check in. We were told their would be a charge, but if we had a players card we could check in at 12 with no charge. So, we went and had breakfast at Hash House a Go Go, and with the wait we finished just in time for our free early check in!

On our email reservation it did state that they do charge an early check in fee! I think this is terrible. It just makes you want to go somewhere else to spend the morning! Do you want happy customers? Since we changed hotels three times we had a car so the luggage was left in the car. When you have a car you have more options. So if the room is ready Why make your customer Mad!

On top of CET charging the fee, if you go for it, you are likley to get a room that is not preferred. The better rooms are still occupied from the night before or being cleaned. You will likley end up with a lower floor room with a crappy view. You may even get a room that someone checked in to the night before, saw the condition of the room, and returned to the desk asking for something better.

The apology of "I'm sorry, we have you in a nice room but it's not ready yet" is being replaced with the line "If you want to get in now you have to pay (and we'll give you the room no one wants)".

Had a reservation at Harrahs North Kansas City for December 27th & 28th.

We arrived at 3 PM and the clerk said it would be a $ 15 charge to check in before 4 PM. I said we'll be back between 4 and 6 to get our room and then go to dinner, we won't go back to the casino after leaving it just to check in.

Also, the bellcap made money!

I'm gold level and my boyfriend (what a funny word at my age!) is platinum.

Harrah's at it's greediest
Just made some reservations at the Rio for an upcoming trip and noticed this on one of the web pages during the booking process:

"Our Hotel Check In time is 4:00PM. Based on availability, a room may be ready prior to this time. Please inquire at the Front Desk for availability and fees for Early Check In on the day of arrival."

Have to say that this new fee doesn't surprise me at all given the massive debt that they have. I won't be arriving early so it's not an issue this time, but you can be damn sure I'll never be paying that fee.
Today's QoftheDay just addressed this issue. I cannot believe the fees quoted. CET went from the only place I look for a room in most areas of the country to not under consideration if expect to arrive early. Who in their right mind would come up with the idea of paying for "early" check-in. The bad will this will bring CET for outweighs the money squeezed from the few customers who would actually pay the sums of money quoted to get into a room an hour or two early. These fees are far worse than a resort fee and I NEVER pay a resort fee.
Hubby and I checked into a comped room at Paris at 1:30 on 12/26 and were not asked to pay an early check-in fee. I did hear other guests being told they would be charged the fee. Hubby and and I both gold card players. Had we been asked we were prepared to check our bags and come back later.
I stayed at Paris in December, 2012. There was a $25 early check-in fee if I wanted my room before 3 p.m.
I've often gotten to my hotel around noon. Half the time, a room was ready for me. The other half, when it wasn't, a $20 tip and one suddenly opened up. Seems like the house is taking money out of its front desk employees pockets.
