Too funny, my husband and I have already had this conversation. (we always assume we're going to hit it big - like what we would do when we hit the lottery) We had already decided - take the cash. We don't need what they're offering, nor do we want to pay the taxes on $50,000.

I'm more excited about the $10 in RCs than the $15 gift card to Macy's that I won. I also would take the cash. Most people don't realize the tax implications of winning large prizes.

Does anyone know why they changed the gift card notification for Best Buy, Home Depot, and Macy's to we'll give you the code for getting the gift card within 6 weeks? The code used to be within the prize notification email.

I'm going to send an email to the eprize group about this.

I am guessing that they ran out of the first batch of Gift Cards, and had to order some more. Don't forget, most of the prizes were won in the first days of the contest (much to their surprise, I am sure). When HET realized this, they had to have _something_ to give away.... so they added more GC's, as well as more of the Entertainment and Dining board prizes. For a while there, everybody who played that day won Entertainment and Dining. Now, it has tapered off again.

They are promising the gift cards, but they don't have them in their hands yet.

The way this game has fizzled out, I doubt that any of us has to worry about winning a $1000 prize, let alone a $10,000 one.
