Excalibur rooms

We needed one extra night, so ended up booking a comped night at Excalibur .  We are paying the resort fee which is really rare for us, but do get some free play.  We are getting in really late and wondering which rooms are the best.

How was your stay?  If acceptable, where in the resort did you stay?  Thanks

The rooms were great.  We stayed in the Royal tower facing away from the strip.  Would diffinately do it again, and the casino was much better than it used to be.  Much cleaner and the center bar was great

Thanks Brent.  I have a comp night there and I just booked it because of your review.  Thanks so much.

Back when I stayed there years ago, the rooms had no tubs, only a shower.  It was no problem for me but could have been for others.  I wonder if it's still that way there or do some rooms have a tub to accomodate guests who might want or need one?

My room in the Royal Tower had only a shower.  I just saw a Youtube video that shows the soaking tub in the  the Royal Superior King Room.  There is also a shower.

I can imagine shower tubs as a liability for casinos with drunk tourists.

Nice to hear an honest review about some of the older joints.    People tend to call them "dives" - many whom never stayed there.    Even the tower rooms at Circus Circus are pretty decent....certainly for what they charge for them.

You can do alot worse than any of those far-North/far-south end properties.

I don't have any issues with Circus Circus, but I wouldn't stay or play there simply because I don't like the location or ambiance and have no desire to earn comps there.  Fremont is the best location, walk everywhere and great food and gambling options.

The Ex is one of the few joints that kept its original theme.  I was there once years ago when we went for the King Arthur dinner show.  All I recall is that the place swarmed with kids, NTTAWWT.  Good to hear they have nice rooms and a clean casino.
