Feedback On Harrah's, Bally's and Paris

We are planning a trip in June to celebrate my boyfriend's 60th birthday. I would like some feedback on your overall experiences at Harrah's, Bally's and Paris since it looks like we may be staying at one of these places due to good rates on Total Rewards.

My boyfriend is using a cane so one thing I am curious about is the hotels proximity to the monorail, staircases, etc.

Overall experiences with casino area, rooms, restaurants, room service, pool or anything else you would like to share.

Thanks....much appreciated.
Mono rail is to me a big waste it takes as much walking to the back of the casino to get to the mono rail as it does to just walk down the strip. If he has mobility issues I would not recommend the mono rail . Harrahs has the most compact casino easy to navigate, Ballys has largest rooms, Paris is the prettiest so they all have something it just depends on what you are looking for. Bally's has stairs going in the front entrance (which I think might be closed for remodeling), it also has small stairs in the casino. I don't recall stairs at Harrahs or Paris.

Can't tell you about the pools except Harrahs is butt ugly square nothing.

Restaurants Paris Le burger bar has great burgers use your LVA BOGO. Harrahs Flavors buffet has a nice breakfast.

Mac King at Harrahs is a fun afternoon show and worth the 10. Make sure to see Big Elvis at Harrahs piano bar in the afternoon. The twins are fun later for dueling pianos.
We have stayed at Paris and Bally's numerous times.

Paris: We have stayed in the Red rooms, which are the renovated rooms on floors 26 and up. We have also had the end corner room which was awesome, but the furthest from the elevator. We have also had a regular room. No complaints about any of them. Paris has a number of dining options. Their "coffee Shp" the Ile de St. Louis is good; we also like Mon Ami Gabi for breakfast or lunch. the Eiffel Tower has a nice lunch/brunch menu that won't empty your wallet, but still give you a fine dining experience; the fast food option on the cobblestone walkway is decent in a pinch.

Ball's: the rooms in the Jubilee Tower are renovated and awesome. The drawback is that the entire front of Bally's is under contruction. This might not be too much of an issue. Dining options are the Sidewalk Cafe (coffe shop) which is pretty good. We enjoed the Calif. Club sandwich, which can easily be shared. I am not very fond of the Tequila Bar food; the Burger Brasserie is just a short walk down the cobblestone walkway and is closer to Bally's than Paris; they have good burgers. The steakhouse is closed for renovations. There are also some food outlets, like Johnny Rockets and Sbarro, on the lower level.

The monorail is not that bad, but it depends on where you want to go. It is NOT conveniet to Wynn, Encore, or Palazzo. Plis, if you need to use the elevators, good luck. From past experience, the one at Harrah's was particularly disgustig.

It is about a ten dollar cab ride from the MGM area to Paris and the same from Paris to Wynn. It all depends on traffic.

We have never stayed at Harrah's, so I can't help you there

Enjoy your trip.

Joy
Harrah's I believe would be the smallest of the casinos for getting around inside and it will get you directly to the strip out the front door. Bally's is set back a bit and with the construction might be a bit further to walk if your planning on venturing out. Paris is the nicest of the three casinos and also is not far off the strip from the front door. I myself enjoy Bally's the best as it connects to Paris thru the walkway and the rooms are larger. Its kind of like getting two casino's for one staying in these properties. As far as the monorail, I also think there is a lot of walking involved to get access to it. The access for these would be either at Paris/Bally's stop or at the Quad/Harrah's stop. It is actually closer to Paris or the Quad respectively. I do enjoy dining at Toby Keith's "I love this Bar" in Harrah's, the Sidewalk café in Bally's. The pools at Bally's and Paris are nicer than Harrah's, and if you stay at Bally's I believe you can use the pool at Paris as well. If it wasn't for the construction and not knowing the access to Bally's I would recommend there, but you can't go wrong with any of them. Enjoy and good luck!

You mentioned room service, so I'll add my 2 cents about that. I love room service.

In recent years (we are 60 somethings LOL) we have found room service to be a good alternative when the hour is late and/or we are too tired to enjoy long lines and noisy eateries. You pay a little more but not that much and well worth it. I can't speak about the three hotels you mentioned, but I've been surprised at the quality and promptness. Love eating dinner in my PJs and then falling into bed!
Paris..the nicest rooms and the prettiest hotel (I I have stayed there at least once a year since 2010) of the 3. Also the highest table game limits of the 3 (more often than not). Buffet used to be great but now, just very good (IMHO) but you pay for it and if you are not diamond/platinum etc then you wait for it also. The "Le cabaret" replaces the Indigo lounge (formerly of Ballys) as the best lounge setting of the 3!

Ballys....nice rooms ( I haven't stayed in Jubilee but will be there for 4 days 3/20-24, Inhave stayed in the north tower at least once each year since 2011), but the north tower rooms were nice. Nothing spectacular. Smallest of the 3 casinos (IMHO) and there is a handicap ramp to the right of the front entrance for wheelchairs to enter the casino floor). No buffet but the Burger brasserie is very good (burger wise and chicken wings to die for). Also Groupons has a Burger brasserie coupon that will save you some $$.

Harrahs ... rooms are the most worn of the 3 but still clean and nice size (at least that was the case 3 years ago). Casino is more crowded than the other 2 and there are several ramps to negotiate. Flavors $ for $ is the best buffet on the strip (IMHO). KGB burgers has a good deal in groupons that's will save you 20/40 bucks. The dueling pianos brings in the crowds at night and make for a lively atmosphere!
I like using the monorail. The monorail stations are at the back of those strip casinos with stations which does involve a bit of walking. My husband has some health issues and can't walk very far without sitting down and catching his breath. We stayed at Bally's and were going to Mirage for lunch. There's no way he could have walked the distance from Bally's to Mirage down the strip dodging all the other people walking on the strip. At least he was able to sit and rest every now and then at an empty slot machine while we made our way from the monorail at Harrahs, through Harrahs, and across the street to Mirage.
I have posted my review of Harrahs in a previous post. They like to give away your room and then downgrade you to a lower level room. I have no use for them. The Jubilee Rooms at Ballys are very nice. Paris is also very nice. You can't go wrong with either of those two.
I agree with Champster's assessment of the rooms & casino. One point to consider is where you want to visit. If you're looking to hit places like Mirage/Venetian/Wynn, then you'll love Harrah's. If, on the other hand, you want to go to places like Bellagio/Cosmo/P Ho/ then Ballys/Paris is better. And if you want to go to places like MGM Grand/Luxor/Mandalay, you'd damn near have to cab it from Harrah's and back. That's a looooooooooooong walk from Harrah's to M Bay!
Paris for room proximity to elevator and casino. Paris worked well last year for a relative who has difficulty walking long distances.
