Mardi Gras World is a great tour. Oak Alley (45 minutes from New Orleans) is something to do, but there isn't much out there other than the tour. There is a small restaurant on the grounds.

Thanks for the info, if you think of anything else let me know! We really enjoyed the WWII museum and it was great that it was within walking distance.
