Fontainbleau and Resorts World

I have yet to visit these properties because I refuse to pay to park. Their loss.

I agree.Crazy Casino charge high price parking.

Well, I guess with no prospect of David visiting, they have no choice but to shut down. Maybe we'll be able to buy their hotel furniture, blackjack tables, etc. at auction.

Note to self: gotta short their stock! 😛

You can park at CC and walk.

I think both places are nicer to stay at than play at.    And I think thats largely what they are going for.

Neither is my cup of tea.

PJ is correct.  Although we like to play at Resorts World and they have been very generous with comps and drinks.  Also reaching 2nd tier level gets you free parking.  There is no real reason to go to Fountainbue, unless it is for non gaming reasons

Speaking for Fontainebleau, they have offered some decent player incentives / offers for very moderate gambling spend in our experience. The rooms are kinda spectacular when you can get them for free after five hundred coin-in (not kidding), which suggests strongly that they need butts in seats. BJ minimums for 3:2 games are horrible ( generally $50 midweek and up). OTOH, VPfree2 indicates they have a number of games at multi-denominations returning 98% + (BP,DB,DDB) @ 10 cents and up; it was never intended as a grind joint and has smelled good since it opened. It's a foofy joint. Hotel guests and players club members get free self-parking, btw. It kinda falls into the 'attainable luxury' category  for Vegas with the bounceback / return offers for low/moderate gamblers. They've got an array of dining options including the ubiquitous food court on the second floor and a long list of overpriced restaurant venues.  My wife drags me in there almost every trip..survived so far. One can work some of the tier match options and kinda slither in this foofy place without a huge amount of spend ( recent history).

Resorts World , otoh, holds no appeal or incentives for us to return after  three intial visits after opening. They sent no offers following those intial visits, though they appear to have softened up a bit within the last year or so with some incentives reported. Different strokes...

Fountainblah seem to have gyrated regarding what they want to be, ever since they opened. They initially styled themselves as fancy-ass, then, as you say, affordable fancy-ass, waffled on parking fees, fiddled with their players' club, etc. IMHO, there's no reason to go there.

Last Resort World seems to have trod a similar path. Both casinos are on a crap portion of the Strip that deservedly gets very little foot traffic. It's never been a worthwhile area, illustrated by the Sahara's stumbling along and briefly dying. The Riviera and Circus Circus Circus Circus pretty much form the de facto northern boundary of the Strip.

I had high hopes when those two joints opened, thinking that maybe they would offer something a little bit different from up the street. Nope!

Sounds like we are getting opposite comps Nines.  Our offers from FB have only been 149 a night and no resort fee.  I think there is resort credit for a 3 night stay.  But we only ran a hundred though on one or two visits at the bar.  I would love to stay there as a home base.  We are planning to play there next trip for a few hours.

I think we got in on some special tier match at Resorts world when they first opened, and we were earning comps and points like crazy on just our normal play at tne bars.  Free rooms and no  resort fees and free parking.  Even the Crockford rooms last summer were free.  I know we are earning points much slower these days, but the offers are still good.

Good for you..we somehow missed any early-on incentives from RW. At FB, otoh, we visited an afternoon soon after ( 3 months or so) opening and they sent 3 free nights and free play after minor gambling spend. They've been consistent in doing so including recently. It's certainly not my fave gambling den, but my wife sure enjoys it ( which emphasizes the source of appeal).

Part of the appeal of this place is the fact that it isn't center strip; it's a draw partially because of that factor alone. Among the so-called Strip properties, their players club has made and continues to make some upper-end efforts to draw foot traffic largely because of its north strip location which is considered a negative by many Strip-centric patrons. And if one's wife appreciates a given joint, no matter how coiffed it might be, ya end up there. lol.
