Free Cruise from Harrah's - Anyone ever do this?

Checked the mail today and the invite was in there...yep, the cruise options are all in Nov and Dec so we're going to get our passports (hopefully doesn't take more than 6 months!) and get 'er booked. Now to choose a date... woo!

We've just been taking the cash and running. The thought of being cooped up on a boat makes me squirm. Please post a TR, if you survive, maybe we'll try it.
I've never been on a cruise so I hope I can handle 7 days on a boat. I emailed my host and requested the December 5 cruise too. The dates I chose for Harrah's NOLA to pick up the cruise packet is June 25-27.
Cyn, I actually worked for NCL in Hawaii... I never thought I'd be a cruise person but even working on the boat, I loved it. It's like the perfect excuse to relax b/c you can't really do anything else. For a vacation over-planner like me, it forced me to enjoy some chill-out time.

Now if we ever had a Titanic situation, the floating door would be all mine...no sharing!!!

Mary, we will miss you in NOLA in June but see you on the cruise in December.
Dan
Which cruise are you planning on taking?
Carol
So, if you show up, get the cash, and do the following, what happens?

A - You finish booking the cruise, but then cancel later in the year.
or

B - You just do not show up the third day, and therefore do not book the cruise, but you still collect the money they offer.

The offer I have says,
Day 1: register.
Day 2: Get $1,000 to help pay taxes, etc
Day 3: get cruise ticket

And, by the way, they are giving money towards travel to get to New Orleans in the first place $800 in my case.
Sandy,
sounds like you have a great offer.
No extra money for us to get to NOLA and only $450 to pay for taxes
Carol
Sandy, we did option B. Harrah's doesn't care 'cause they know that cash will end up in their machines (at least it did in our case).

Yea, no kidding.

I am looking to make a trip to get $1,000 cash for expenses, $800 in airfare reimbursement, and some other cash. And, I still will leave it all there.!!!!!

But, might book the cruise anyways. Wish I could just give the cruise to somebody else though. Maybe if I book another couple as my guests in same cabin of course (vs wife), and then let only them go? Hmmm....
I thought my offer was awesome...and it is, but wow $1800...

We're thinking of taking the December cruise as well...

Just got the Saks and Shoes in the City offer...my wife made me book it immediately... looks like alot of fun for her...
